My husband lost his ring in the pasture about 35 years ago and finally found it, using a metal detector, just before Christmas. Best Christmas present I ever received. He made me do a scavenger hunt to find it wrapped as a gift. It was in the original mud that he found it in. We both cried. Hope you both will be celebrating in 42 more years.
