Even animals have personalities. As long as he is where he is he will have adoring fans and even keepers. Polar bears instinctually are solitary so I'm not sure he'd like sharing his living space (and attention) with another bear. Somebody is just trying to dramatize something that is not that big of a deal. It is still fun to comment about it! What is wrong with Knut wanting attention? Even animals have personalities.
