Where did the morning go??

Ok -

I have some blog time! Yippeeee…(even though I still haven’t accomplished anything today!)

A lot of you have mentioned the cold temperatures… we had record lows across the Deep South again with freeze warnings up for many areas once again tonight. Once we loose the sunlight, the clear skies make things get very chilly quickly. A warming trend is on the way for areas that have been in the deep freeze (literally) over the next few days.

It’s windy, dry and warm over the Great Plains back in the Four Corners and into Southern California. Red Flag Warnings are up for the enhanced fire risk. We’ve got some unsettled weather over the Northwest as a few systems push through. Some of that energy will move into the Central U.S. tomorrow and Thursday which could bring the potential for more rain over water-logged areas.

We’re also watching a little coastal system off of the southeast which will stay off shore, but bring high winds and some rough rip currents from Florida to the Outer Banks.

So…that’s what’s happening in weather-land.

I think I told you I’m going to Dallas at the beginning of May to take part in the MS 150 race. I may even cycle part of it…Scott (the fella who is riding the whole entire race) has updated his blog incase you want to take a peak and see his progress in training.

I will most certainly take many many pictures once I’m there!

I think that about covers it so far today. I promise to post more of your U-Report photos as they come in!

Here’s the link to send me YOUR photos! >>

(Please remember to save your name, city and state in the TITLE option of the U-Report form!)

Wanted to put a warning out about Scott’s site. Someone put a couple of spams in his guestbook so if you go there don’t click on the links in there!
But everyone DO go there and donate! If you donate $100 you’ll get one of his amazing photos! There are four to choose from. My favorite is the up close and personal of a cow. He even gives you the option of splitting up the donation. This is such a worthy cause! Come on people! DONATE!

Hey Lynn. Thank you for letting me know about that spam stuff. I will let Scott know. I appreciate your kindness. :)

I’m pretty happy that the morning went by so quickly JD. That way I can get out from behind this desk and enjoy the beautiful day sooner!

I don’t know about anyone else, but I rather enjoy the chilly nights, it’s GREAT sleeping weather. Soon enough that miserable humid weather will be making us uncomfortable.

Red Flag weather is never a good thing for anyone in Forest Fire Control, but relative humidity is also an important factor in fire danger too. It can be dry and breezy, but if the RH is 40% or higher fires have a difficult time getting started. Although if a fire is established the wind is truly a bad thing. Now don’t try this at home kids, relative humidity and fire I mean.

You’re so right Bill about the RH factor. And yes, you’re right about the sleeping weather. There’s nothing like fresh air as opposed to air conditioning! It was a gorgeous day here too. I wish I could’ve enjoyed it a little more…

In answer to your question of “Where did the morning go?”, mine has been spent at the hospital. My son and daughter-in-law had their twin babies. Hunter Glenn was born at 1:38 CDT and weighs 6 lbs, 14 ozs. Allison Michelle was born at 1:40 CDT and weighs 6 lbs, 11 ozs. Big babies for twins! They are perfectly beautiful. Mom and babies are all fine. This is the 3rd set of Walton twins born in the last 20 years (my 2 sons, my nephew’s 2 sons, and now my son’s son and daughter).

God is good, and we are doubly blessed today!
