Spring has Sprung!
It is absolutely the most beautiful day outside! I walked home yesterday through the park and realized I should’ve had my camera with me. The trees are in bloom, the dogs are out and excited and everyone is just so happy spring is finally here. I’m charging up my camera and will take it with me everywhere I go so I can better take part in those “kodak moments” and share them with you.
I am also going to train a bit on the u-report system today so I can help post your pics in a timely fashion. It’s not a perfect system, but it does allow everyone to send pictures, so we’ll manage!
In weather-land, Colorado got hit with a spring snowstorm – something they are somewhat used to this time of year (right Sunny?
)…a foot of snow fell in the mountains, and Denver will see several slushy inches. Hard to believe a few days ago they were at 82 degrees and now it’s almost 40 degrees cooler!
We do have a system across the plains that will bring some rain, winds, maybe some hail and not a huge chance of tornados, but there is the slight chance from Texas into Oklahoma. The unsettled weather will move across the Mississippi River Valley tomorrow. Obviously this area doesn’t need any more rain as many of the rivers along the Mississippi are still at or past flood stage.
Meanwhile, in the good news department, the eastern seaboard is enjoying an absolutely spectacular forecast with warm temperatures, not much humidity and plentiful sunshine.
Do you feel a change in the air? Is your mood “brighter” because of the weather?

JD…..
Well I woke up to about 3″ here at my house in Denver. We did get reports of about a foot in the mountains. It got down to 28 this morning after 82 the other day. The good news is that it is supposed to be in the mid 70s on Saturday. By the way, April is our 3rd snowiest month of the year here in Denver. The nice thing here is that the roads are already clear and the snow will be gone by noon with lots of sunshine.
Hope you got my “cloud warning” pic I sent you yesterday. I’m not sure you can actually use it on the site, but thought you might get a good laugh. Maybe some other folks there at FNC might enjoy as well. Ha Ha!
Have a great day.
Sunny

I am enjoying this weather immensely Deb! I don’t look forward to the stinky, sticky, hot summer here in NYC though!
I will enjoy every minute of the spring temps and the low humidity!
So, they expired the one alert … and issued a new one …

It’s about 2:48pm PDT here … and it’s 54 degrees with grey skies … but feels colder …
The NIFC site is kewl to see where all of the wildfires are … But, the YTD stats are NOT a good sign of what’s in store for this summer as we’re already over 1 mil acres …
The InciWeb site was kewl because I was able to track the “Ranch” fire & the other one near it last year … and I was able to let my friend know which way they were headed & if her house was in danger (while she was at work) …
