U-Report from Bill Starr

Our good friend Bill Starr from Scotia New York has gotten his camera out again for us! He took some beautiful pictures of wildflowers as well as a view from the Beebe Hill fire tower in Autumn…(as requested by Dawn!)…

Thanks Bill!

Thanks Bill….Beautiful…absolutely beautiful….! :D

Janice I just finished watching my tape of America’s Newsroom…the damage done in TX by tornados…

Im struck by no matter how many times we see pics of tornado damage its still is stunning…and just how literally people are going to pick up the pieces of their lives and start over….

It’s true Dawn. You never get used to seeing destruction like that…I’m just so thankful no one was seriously hurt…

Great pictures! I’m sure the bloggers are happy to look at some other pictures besides mine. I love the mountains in the fall. It’s beautiful and so are the wildflowers. I love photographing the mountains in Western Maryland in the fall. They are so beautiful. One of my favorite spots is in West Virginia, however. Spruce Knob is the highest point in the state and it’s about 2 1/2 hours from here. (That is if you don’t get stuck behind a truck or slow car winding through the mountains.) I have photographed it in every season except winter. (It’s too dangerous to travel on the dirt road in the winter.) The mountains are looking so green and beautiful around here now. I guess the 3+ inches of rain we had earlier in the week helped!

Hey Janice, I have a question for you. Before I ask it, I want to give a disclaimer: my mind works in mysterious ways sometimes, so I can come up with some crazy ideas. Well, our discussion yesterday about UFO’s inspired me last night and I used the Niagara Falls picture that has the skyline visible through the mist to create a “masterpiece.” I found a clip art picture of a UFO and used my photo editing software to turn it into a more “realistic” flying saucer that is arising from the mist. I’d love to send it to you but since it’s a fabricated photo, I wasn’t sure if I should. Does anyone else see the pictures that people submit and would you be interested in seeing it? I think it looks pretty funny but I don’t want to send it if you think it’s a stupid idea. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Hello Janice,
Just woke up not too long ago. LOL! How are you today?
Everyone else’s pictures were so beautiful compared to mine.
I love those flowers. I feel bad having mine put up here :(
Have a gret evening :D

Your picture was beautiful Fujie! (and it was one of the very first U-report photos I posted, so it holds a special place here on the blog!) Have a great weekend!

Beautiful photos as always, Bill! Did you ever set up a webshots?

Janice, read on Scott’s page that you weren’t going to be able to make it to the bike ride. Saying extra prayers for you right now! The Lord knows the need.

Thanks Lynn. I have to go home to see a friend of mine who’s not doing very well. I appreciate your kind words of support…

Sincerest and deepest of warm thoughts and prayers and tons of positive energy for you…

Have courage…

and if that seems to wane sometimes then lean on those that you trust whom you know love and support you….

Its ok to lean on the right people….

Hey, Janice:

How are you feeling?

Hey, Bill…great pictures! The BeeBee Hill photo reminds me of a description out of James Fenimore Cooper’s “Leatherstocking Tales” (The Deer Hunter volume, I think).
