Just from searching the internet, i dont remember the site. Plus the rate of mental illness depends on the location, in the inner cities it is more prevelant.

I bet you always find it in your heart to spare some money or loose change to give to the a homeless person, if they even come up and ask, or if you see them suffering, all cold and starving on the street.

You are a true Angel sent from Heaven.

Hope you have a great day.

Maybe one day when you win the lottery and become super rich, then you can consider the move down there :)

The best thing you can do for a person suffering from a mental illness to care and be there for them. That is the best advice i can give you.

Brad,

I think my allergies are seasonal. I like your idea about moving to Hawaii! I might try that!

Mental illness is no laughing matter. I have a friend whose brother is dealing with some issues right now and it's devastating. My previous job was in a psychiatric hospital so I've seen a lot of different types of mental illness. Some of them were pretty out of it, but some were pretty funny. They didn't take themselves too seriously. I have to tell you a funny story. I doubt I can remember the exact dialog, but I do remember the punch line. One day I went to the vending area and someone asked me how I was doing. (I can't remember if it was a patient or employee.) We must have talked about how I like my job and I said something about really liking it. A patient who was there said, "You have to be crazy to like this place!" Now I had to laugh at that, especially since it came from a patient in a psychiatric hospital! I still remember that and it happened at least 17 years ago since that's how long it's been since I worked there.

I'm curious where you got that 90% figure from. That sound very high to me so I'm curious where you read that. The current prevalence estimate is that about 20% of the US population is affected by mental disorders during a given year, so that would be a lot of homeless people! Let me know where you got that figure from. Thanks!

Have a great day.

Hey Margie-

Are you still having those sinus headache problems? It very well could be a seasonal allergy, maybe you should consider moving to Hawaii, i heard the weather can work wonders to clear your breathing.

About the mental illness issue. Its no laughing matter, i read 90 percent of cases happen to homeless people and out military serving overseas when they finish their tour of duty.

With all your interesting life experiences, you should consider writing a novel. I bet you will will be a NY Times number one bestseller :)

Margie..

I love tomatoes too.. a couple of weeks I chopped up some tomatoes, cucumbers and green onion, mixed then all up and drizzled them with some light ranch dressing and it was delish. It would even taste better if everything was fresh from the garden. Now, I'm hungry!!

Hey Deb,

Those storms can certainly drop the temperature in a hurry. We had a little rain this morning, but nothing major. It was only supposed to get up to 80 today, but it's about 85 right now so I'm sure it's rather uncomfortable outside with the high humidity. I think my headache is better today because the cold front came through--who knows! I can't figure out my sinuses at all because the two days I had my headache I was over at the Memorial Campus where I can control the temperature. Here at Braddock it's always cold but I don't have a headache--go figure! You can ask them to adjust the temperature but thy never listen. You might as well talk to yourself. One day last month when we had cooler temperatures outside I actually wore a long sleeve blouse and a jacket! I think that was the stretch where I actually had to turn the heat back on in my house--June was a crazy month!

All this talk of tomatoes by you and Dawn is making me hungry! My dad has a couple tomato plants so hopefully I'll get to enjoy some fresh tomatoes soon. I don't know how far along they are but I'll find out this weekend. I don't have enough sunlight at my house to grow tomatoes. My sunniest spot has my rose bushes in it.

Have a great day!

Hey Margie..

It is raining here now, and the temp has dropped 10 degrees. It is just a small front, so it will only last for about an hour or so. But it is a refreshing change.

No wonder you have sinus problems with the different temps you are dealing with. Can't they adjust the temp at your work?

I agree about the mental issue..it is very serious.. but that was amusing (respectfully) about the naked lady.

Have a great day Margie.
Deb

Hey Dawn..

I take that you are a busy woman..and those veggies sound delish.I have 2 tomato plants and they several tomatoes on them..can't wait till they get ripe..

Don't work to hard..

JD we finally had a shower yesterday. It was refreshing and cooling for about 30 minutes. Now it is getting the time we don't want rain, for the corn to stay dry. Which means it will rain nonstop!
