A sad day…
We have just heard the news that Tony Snow has died.
I’ve worked with Tony several times over years during his time at Fox, and have run into him many times at various company get-togethers. The one thing I remember about Tony is he always wanted to know how you were doing – how your family was. After I was diagnosed with MS, Tony wasn’t afraid to ask about how I was. While others might’ve been nervous to enquire about my health, perhaps this is a bond we both shared. We both knew how important life was, after realizing we are all fragile human beings. He was kind, handsome, smart, and such a presence. Although I didn’t know him well, I always felt like I did. I remember when we first heard about him going to the White House to become Press Secretary. I wrote him a quick email never thinking he would respond to me – just wanted to pass on a congratulations from the Weather Girl. He wrote me right back and thanked me, and that he was looking forward to start this new and exciting chapter in his life. I remember showing this email to my husband and saying ”wow – is this a great man or what?”
Anyhow, I just wanted to share what I remember about this wonderful man. My heart and my prayers go out to his family who I know he held so dearly. We love you Tony, and will miss you.
Janice

For 25 years I’ve subscribed to The Conservative Chronicle. Tony had a column in it for many years. I sent Tony a letter and told him how I read this paper cover to cover in the bathroom and how on so many occasions I needed to bring it to my computer to look up some of the words he used as I didn’t have a computer in my bathroom. Tony answered me by first promising to try to not use so many obscure words and second he suggested I purchase a dictionary for “my reading library”
It is sad news. Loved his sense of humor — even during tense Presidential press conferences.
I couldn’t believe it when I heard the news this morning. He had a wife and 3 children, the oldest child still in high school. So very sad.
That was one “fox news alert” email that I never wanted to get…
My heart was and is heavy at his passing….My thoughts and prayers go to his family…the fox family…and all of his viewers and admirers as they shed tears and smile at wonderful and joyful memories….
Tell those that you love that you do….
Don you said how Tony told you to …”he suggested I purchase a dictionary for “my reading library”
What a WONDERFUL memory
Thanks so much for sharing
Hey Janice,
When I logged on to the Internet this morning from my dad’s computer, I saw Tony’s picture and the headline. It is a very sad day. I really liked him, both at Fox News and as the White House press secretary. He was a great man of character and I admired him very much. I will definitely keep his family in my prayers.
Margie
Morning all,
I woke up hearing it the news as the gmc is always on.
Truly sad day for all of the people no matter if they be a fan,co worker.
He was so amazing, loved watching his verbal jousts with white house press core.
Perhaps JD could provide a blog entry where all of us could put down a few words to express our thoughts to his family and have them sent to his wife and children.
Peter
Its a very sad day. He will be missed by everyone. Godbless his family.
This is very sad news..:(
JD,
I am sorry to hear about the passing of such a quality person who was liked and respected by so many. His family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers today. JB
Janice this is very hard for me. Tony was diagnosed right before or after me. I do have a link to his beautiful writing about cancer. He knew the beast first hand and considered it a blessing to know what was important.
The beast steals family and friends that you truly miss. Tony Snow is such a man.
I saw Tony once at a downtown D.C. restaraunt and shook his hand and asked how he was doing.(this was after he had stepped down) He looked frail but was very upbeat and friendly and said he was taking it one step at a time. He noticed my tie tack which was from my command. He asked how I was doing, if I got to see my family enough, and that he didn’t think we got recognition for all we do and thanked me. I thanked him for serving and putting up with some leftist creeps who didn’t deserve any protection. How cruel were those guys who wrote how good it was that he was sick. Tony didn’t badmouth them but said thats what we get in a free society. What a class act he was. The worlds a little colder today now that he is gone.
I also noticed his death barely got a mention on the other news channels. Compare that Chris Matthews death.
Totally agree with what everyone has said about Tony, such a man of unknown talents too !, to mw he was the one of the best press secretaries the white house had, and a great anchor on fox, a huge loss to all at FNC , and our nations capital too, god bless you Tony you lived life to the max right up until , and he loved his lord, his country, and his family , what a great example to follow in my opinion , somehow my crappy week at work getting yelled at , just doesn’t seem to be on my mind as much as our sad loss of a truly great human being, may he be reunited with his mom.

I always have the news on when I sleep at night….not good at times. Can give me some interesting dreams, but need the background sound and usually the news is boring enough it helps put me to sleep. So I was saddened this morning when I woke up to the news that Tony had died. I’d seen him interviewed a few times and he seemed like such a special person. I know he will be greatly missed but feel the most heartache for his wife and children. They’re in for a very rough time….praying so for his family and praying daily for you as you face your own battles every day.
I saw an interview this morning with Mr. Snow from back in the fall. He was talking about the love he has for his family and broke into tears. Seeing him that way tore me to pieces…and my heart is broken for his family.
yes this is very sad indeed.
Learned it this morning reading the blog.
But like Megyn Kelly just commented on Foxnews, Tony didn’t lose the battle against cancer: he was brave and put everything he had in those last years.
Look at everything he accomplished!
And think about all the people he reached.
Given all the jobs he was doing until today, I always assumed he was fine.
So yes it is sad he got separated from his loved ones so early, but he really gave a lot of substance and dimension to his own life and the life of so many others.
(I wish I could say the same about mine.)
I really love the fact he never gave up.
and yet he was never aggressive or pretentious.
And because in my strange belief, I know he just went to this place that is our real home and where we all go back one day, I just want to thank him for all the inspiration he gave us here on earth.
I know his kind spirit and his smile will stay around.
Guillaume
Hey Deb,
Your comment reminded me of something I just heard about my friend Alicia, who died back in March. She was a pastor and had a very strong faith so she knew that when she died she’d be with the God she served so faithfully. My friend Karen just told me last weekend about a conversation she had with Alicia’s husband a couple weeks ago. Alicia tried all kinds of treatments even though her cancer had spread and there didn’t seem to be much hope. She loved her family so much and she wanted to be around for them, especially her son, who I think is 22. She was so in love with her husband. Karen used the expression, “They were joined at the hip.” Next to God, they were the most important thing in her life, so I can understand how Tony felt. Alicia was three years younger than Tony, so I can understand why she wanted to be around longer. The thing that comforts me, and I’m sure both their families, is knowing that they aren’t in pain any longer and they’re in a much better place. It’s the families they leave behind that have the hard part now. I will be praying for Tony’s family during this difficult time.
Margie
Hey Margie,
Yes, the Lord above and my family are my strength also. And I know what it is like to watch someone suffer from illness. My brother was in a vegatative state for 8 years, and when he passed away it was relief to know that he wasn’t suffering anymore.
I am sorry you lost your dear friend, and that she was taken away from the ones she loved, but I am sure that God has a very special place for her.
Deb
God has a plan for us all, i know sometimes it isn’t fair when we see loved ones pass on, but it is our faith in something far greater and better, and good that binds us through thick and thin, life and death. so thats why we must make use of every hour , every second and every minute and day on this earth keeping hold close to those who we love and love us in return be it family, friends or somebody you know who cares, and remembering to say ” i love you” before you turn out the light at night, you never know when your time is up , god can call you home for dinner in an instant,
Richard
Richard..
I agree with your beautiful words of wisdom..
Life is very short indeed..
Deb
This news is certainly sad indeed. Tony Snow was such an genuine, intelligent, articulate gentleman. His presence has been greatly missed from Fox and from the White House. My prayers are with his family and other loved ones. This is a difficult time for them. I was only 14 when I lost my 49-year-old father to a heart attack. So, I do understand how great this loss is for them now and how it will impact them for the rest of their lives. My heart hurts for them.
Richard, you’re certainly right. Life is so fragile and is lived on a moment-to-moment basis. A loss such as this is a reminder to all of us to hold our loved ones a little closer and to never forget to tell them “I love you” every chance you get.
Take care, everyone.
Gwen
I can only imagine how sad the Fox News bureaus in Washington and elsewhere must be today. I feel your pain and your sadness. I really like Tony Snow, too. He was one of my Fox Favorites.
I never met Tony Snow, although I wish I had. He was one of my favorites at Fox News.
I was surprised when he left to become President Bush’s Press Secretary. I was glad, too, because I respected Tony and knew he would be a “No B.S.” Press Secretary.
It wasn’t until I read his bio today that I realized we were at the University of Chicago at the same time. Tony was there in 1978-1979 doing graduate work in philisophy and economics. I received my MBA from Chicago in 1976 and remained on working there for the Business School until May 1979. Our paths likely crossed because I often sat in on Milton Friedman’s lectures.
When I began watching Fox News in the mid-1990’s, Tony was one of the first people I saw on the air. His name is the same as one of my cousin’s sons. My cousin was Judy Snow. She and her family lived in Park Ridge, Illinois — ironically, on the same street where Hillary Rodham Clinton grew up. Judy was active in the League of Women Voters. Her husband, Tom Snow, was a terrific guy. Sadly, Judy died when she was 58 in 1996. She would have liked the Tony Snow on Fox News. And, he would have liked Judy. Everyone did! Judy had a great personality.
My condolences go to Tony’s family and his colleagues at the White House and at Fox News. Tony was one of the best.
We will all miss him.

Deb,
It must have been hard for you to lose your brother and to watch him be in that state for so long. My brother was in the hospital for 5 months before he died, but the last 2 months were the worst. He died from complications from a bone marrow transplant for Hodgkin’s disease. He was almost ready to be released when he got pneumonia and things went downhill from there. He was on a respirator for 2 months before he died and near the end, although he would look at you, you really wondered if he was there. He had what’s called graft versus host disease, which is basically the same thing as the body rejecting an organ transplant. He was only 24 when he died. I made sure he knew I loved him. I make sure I say “I love you” to the special people in my life, whether they are family or friends because you never know what will happen. And when I tell someone I love them, I mean it–it’s not the mushy type.
Gwen,
I’m sorry you lost your dad at such a young age. I’m blessed to still have both my parents. My mom lost her dad when she was only 12 and that was during the Depression. I think sometimes we take people for granted and things like this remind us to treasure every moment we have with those special to us.
Take care,
Margie
This is MOST distressing.
When I worked in midtown, I would pass HQ FOX on a daily basis, and look through the window of the studio, and everytime Tony and I would see each other, he would always wave to me.
Thoughts and prayers to the Snow family, and to those at FOX who knew Tony.
BTW-I think that Don is correct…Tony’s death did not get the same mention as Matthews’ death as far as I know. But, then again, I rarely watch the other stations much anymore.
Sal
Sal and Don I am thinking you are referring to Tim Russert….Chris Matthews isn’t dead….
I will say as a side thought though…Tim Russert’s death was very sudden and unexpected…I think it really rocked so many because it was sooo very beyond startling….Tony’s though deeply sad isnt a surprise by any stretch of the imagination….He had signed on to CNN back in April I believe and hardly was ever on…Infact his being MIA during the Dem primary races was a very real indication things were not going well….
The odds were so very stacked against him….and people knew it…
Hey Margie..
The circumstances with my brothers brain injury and his long illness and death were tragic, words can’t describe what you go through. But some how God gave us the strength to accept the loss and go on with our lives.
I am sorry about your brother, I know the void, I have lost 2 siblings.
And you are so blessed to have both your parents, I miss mine. I miss talking to them, visiting them, helping them with chores around the house, the things I used to take for granted. But now that they are gone, and I look back, I wish I had told them I loved them more often. You just can’t say that enough.
I have heard alot of good and positive comments made today about Tony Snow. He touched alot of peoples lives. He will be missed.
Deb
Very good point Dawn.
Tony’s passing was more expected than Tim Russert’s.
And yet it is interesting how both of them lived intensively and “fully” the last past years of their life and career… and how both of them had a strong faith.
And honestly, I really thought Tony wouldn’t leave us, or at least not that early because I guess he showed us so much determination and also because he was not afraid of death, he almost made us believe it too.
Now I don’t want to sound irreverent here given the circumstances but I admit the confusion between Chris Matthews and Tim Russert….kind of gave me a good laugh for one second…because even if these two characters were very different, I admit myself it is sooo easy to mix up anchors or even networks for one another; I didn’t even realize the confusion reading the early messages
I admit I gave up watching CNN and NSBC during the Primaries coverage.
But for someone who loves news – and I know you do Dawn, one should watch many different programs and channels.
Just lost a bit of my patience I guess during those long primaries… (except for Howard Kurtz, of course, and I like Zacaria’s new program about the world).
Guillaume
I first watched Tony when FoxNews Channel came to Canada and was happy to see him when he gave his first press briefing for President George W. Bush, and many of the rest, with the last one too. I believe he will go down in history as the best Press Secretary in the history of the United States.
Honestly Tim Russert is missed no doubt by his friends and family but I could care less about the guy.
Tim Russert wasn’t good enough to carry Tony’’s water in my opinion. Of course the left news outlets wouldn’t say much about Tony cause he was too good at what he did, and they in the left can’t stand anyone who wins.
Tony Snow was a Great American who lived a very full and satisfying life during his 53 years than most people will ever get the chance during their lifetimes. Even when faced with the challenge of battling his cancer, he always had a positive outlook on life, even during his last days. He was also a kind and genuine person. A lot of people that had cancer looked up to Tony, as a brave and great spirited person. Not to mention all the charities he had raised money for.
My hearts and sympathies go out to the entire Snow family. They are in my prayers to get them through this tough time.
Tim Russert’s tragic death was equally sad, although i didnt agree with his liberal views, he was kind person, just like Tony Snow was. Tim was the only journalist on a liberal biased network, who always tried to be fair and balanced and relentless in his interviewing skills. He would have made a great addition to FNC, if he had only decided to join their team.
To the person that said Chris Matthews was dead, he is surely not. He is still on that liberal left wing smear machine network every day, going for on his biased rants about his favortism of BHO.
Btw, how the FNC studios look? I havent really been to NYC before. I bet its a great place to work.
Gwen-
I am really sorry for your loss. I can only imagine how it is like to lose a parent at such a young age. It must have been very devasating. If you ever need some advice, or someone to turn to with a problem, dont be hesistant to ask. I am sure your father is in a better place, and he is proud to look down on your from Heaven at your amazing achievements.
Take Care.
Don-
I must have been a great honor for you to have met Tony. You should have asked him for a picture and autograph. But i am sure you have great memories of that wonderful event in your life.
I happened to also flip the channels, and saw absolutely to coverage of Tony Snow’s passing on those other liberal networks. Those people who operate those channels obviously dont care for a person who meant a whole lot to many folks, and was an inspiration to us all.
Kathy-
I guess you are a breast cancer survivor. Congrats to you.
Margie-
I am really sorry about your friend Alicia. It must be very tough for you, going through the greiving process. Just try and remember the good times you had with your friend, and you will get through this tough period in your life.
Take Care.
Deb-
It must have been tough and very stressful for you to watch your brother suffering it that vegetative state for such a long time. I am glad you have your Faith in God to help get you through. God Bless to you and your family. Take Care.
Its also sad that his mother died of the same cancer, i guess it was hereditary in a way.
Regardless of their political leans both of these men were respected and like by people on both sides of the isle…They were both known for the fairness and kindness and good and friendly natures…
They both deeply loved and cared about their families, their God (both were Catholic..Tim a devout one his entire life and Tony later in life developed his faith) , this country and the profession they loved….
Im thinking they were at their core more alike than not….Probably just their politics was the bigger difference….
I wasnt surprised at Tony’s passing…..He has been so very absent from the landscape that it was deafening and I was aware of his cancelation from some appearances….I was just very very sad to get that alert…
And I bet they are having a good time together chatting about it all
Yes Guilluame…Im a news-nut in a big way for a variety of reasons….How did you know?…
Hope everyone has a good day…
Deb,
I am very blessed to still have both my parents. They both are not in the best of health so I try to help them as much as possible. I live about an hour and a half from them so it’s hard to visit too often, especially with the price of gas, but I do my best. I’ve been doing some of their big house cleaning for them lately. They have a cottage in a retirement village and some services are provided, but not basic cleaning. Today I’m driving them up to my brother’s place for my nephew’s birthday. I’m sure my sister-in-law will have all kinds of good food and stuff! It will be nice to celebrate a young life. I’m not as close to my older brother as I was to my brother Mike, but I try to get along with him as best I can. He’s gotten better since he got married because I think his wife keeps him in line if she hears him say something mean to me! He seems to delight in making fun of my religious beliefs. I do love him though. He’s the only brother I have left so I better get along with him.
Now I have to get ready for our trip so I’d like to wish you and everyone a great day.
Margie
Youre right Wenchie. I was thinking of Russert. Those two guys are interchangeable as they both worked for big name politicins before going to the news game.
The thing about living here is that you do see people such as politicians and pundits fairly regularly as you move about (I saw Megyn Kelly a couple of times at the Mall at Tysons Corner when she was down here). A lot of times, you really don’t want to bother them as they are working or with the family. I met Tony as I was walking in as we both entered the building at the same time. The little interchange was while we were waiting to be seated. My friend who I was meeting also said I should have asked for an autograph. The conversation (maybe no more than 5 minutes) was good enough for me.
Janice, As I watched the Tributes of Tony Snow, on Fox, I noticed the many watering eyes. Ironically, Tony, would be smiling..
As the bird trims her to the gale,
I trim myself to the storm of time,
I man the rudder, reef the sail,
Obey the voice at eve obeyed at prime:
“Lowly faithful, banish fear,
Right onward drive unharmed;
The port, well worth the cruise, is near,
And every wave is charmed.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Wolfscratch: Tony was a kindred spirit and a Great American Hero. He could have kept his plight a secret, but chose to bring awareness to the issue, saving many other lives in the process.
Wolfscratch: Glenn Adams
Dawn, I know you’re a news-nuts cause I can tell by your posts about news in general. But also because you told us many times
As much as I love watching everyday Janice, Bill and Megyn, I also like to watch other news programs (often foreign news broadcast) or to surf online to read more or to get another perspective on stories or a focus on specific local news.
Internet is a great tool for that! as well as any Tivo system!
But so far I’ve only seen ONE UNIQUE Weather Machine
Guillaume
AH!
(Blush) Hope I dont over do the zeal I have for it
I musta forgot when I have shared that….been a long weekend…
I admit no TiVo here…
Just the old fashion VCR if you can believe it…No foreign news broadcast on my cable system either…
Wolfscratch…I think Tony would be smiling with the exception of the pain in grief this no doubt has caused his children and wife….
(I saw the clip with and interview David Gregory did with him….The idea he was going to miss his children growing up etc caused him tremendous sadness in that interview) …
Im hoping he had the chance to do what he wanted in terms of fiances before he got too ill…..
Wenchie, We are all a part of nature. Our memories are our only possessions. Cherish them…
Wolfscratch: It’s the Journey, not the Destination…
I noticed in Adam Housley’s blog that Tony Snow was a huge fan of Chinese food. I wonder if had a craving for Panda Express take out? Its one of my favorites, with no MSG.
I havent really seen anyone famous, but i definately know what you mean. Its the same with celebs, a lot of times they are off during their own buisness, maybe running errands, and it wouldnt be polite to bother them.
VCR’s arent really out of style. I still use one, so there is absolutely no reason to be ashamed of having one. They come in handy when a person wants to record thier favorite programs and dont want to take the trouble of setting up some other bulky equipment.
I am sure a lot of people on this blog still have their VCRs. Take Margie, Don, and others. Ask them and i am sure they will tell you the same thing.
Janice probably has several of them in her house
Who knows?
Hey Margie-
Did you and your husband happen to write a tribute email to FNC earlier today, because at the 4am news slot, they were reading some of them, and one of them was from a Don and Margie in CA.
Oops sorry, Dawn, I didn’t mean you only talk about your passion for the news!
you’re certainly not over-zealous in anything.
I just remember you said it a couple of times (I have good memory for some details)
And yes, we all love your words of wisdom
yes, Wolfscratch, I agree it is the journey that matters…
Brad, I still definitely have my VCR
and you’re right it is very handy.
what kind of Chinese food is Panda Express?? China is so huge with so many different regions, its food is very varied too. I admit I don’t know it that well.
Love Japanese. Really like Thai, Malaysian and Vietnamese.
Getting much more familiar with Korean and Burmese food.
Everything depends on how lucky you get to find a nice restaurant!
Guillaume
Hey Brad,
I live in Maryland and I’m single so it wasn’t me who wrote the tribute. It would have been nice to hear, though!
I still own a VCR, but I also have a DVD/VCR recorder. I can record either onto the DVD or VCR, so it’s nice.
As far as Chinese food is concerned–what we call “Chinese” in this country is nothing like they prepare over in China. It’s an Americanized version, but still really good!
Have a great evening.
Margie
Margie-
Maybe you can write one when you have some free time. Who knows? Maybe you will have the honor of it being it read on the air
Thanks for the suggestion, i cant really keep up with all the latest technology these days. I know my VCR is broken. It still works, but sometimes i have a hard time ejecting my tape from the machine, and it gets stuck.
Where you did purchase your DVD/VCR recorder? Was it it at Best Buy or Circuit City? I am wondering where i could get a cheap rate on one of those.
I am guessing you have traveled overseas to experience the “real” Chinese food, am i correct? How is it different than the ones you find in downtown Chinatown or any of those take out places? I have always wondered.
I know someone told me that Taco Bell food isnt really authentic Mexican either, but i dont think i would have known the difference.
Take Care.
Guillaume-
Check this out:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panda_express
It gives you a good idea of what kinds of food they serve at Panda Express. If you go to their official site, maybe you can find out if there is a location near you. Its usually located at a shopping mall food court.
I also love Japanese food. You will find a lot of those exotic food items at your local health food store, its great for vegetarians who are looking out for their health.
Does anyone know if FNC is available on HD? I heard its later on this month.
I also dont think that wasting a ton of money to call your cable company just to install HD is such a good idea. I am very happy with the quality of the tv i currently have, and i dont want it to conflict with my internet connection.
Here is some info on HD, just in case y’all are interested:
http://www.homeentertainmentguide.co.uk/Pages/1bHDTV.html
I noticed on my tv, i have a couple of channels, one is 43-3, and 44-4. Those channels on my set have the Food Network and The Weather Channel supposedly in a clearer pic. I wonder if my TV is already HD capable?
Plus i believe that all cable is turning digital next Feburary, so i guess that is a good thing.
Brad,
Our discussion has gotten little off-topic for this thread, but I guess that’s nothing new. I just don’t want to sound disrespectful by changing the topic, so I hope others don’t mind. I think I got my DVD/VCR online from Amazon. What I like about them is that there are reviews for the products so you can see what other people think about them. For things sold by them, they offer free shipping and that can save a lot, especially on big items.
As far as Chinese food is concerned–I’ve seen a number of food programs on Chinese food and I also have a friend who was in China. Things are very different–for example, I don’t think too many people eat frogs or piglets in this country! I found a really good web site that you might find interesting if this post doesn’t wind up in the spam filter because I’m sending a link. Here’s a great article for you to read:
http://www.travelchinatour.com/china-travel/chinese-food-cuisine-1.htm
By the way, the same goes for Mexican food–it is quite different.
Margie
well, we certainly eat frog legs and snails in France
(I actually love snails)
Thank you Brad and Margie for your links.
I checked Panda Express site but they don’t have any restaurant in the city.
I have to explore more Chinatown! unless Janice can recommend me a good one
Guillaume
Escargots!!
Had them when I went on an Alaskan cruise!! YUMMM…
little froggie legs??…Never had them….and could probably only try them if they didnt look like little froggie legs…ya know?
When I was in Hawaii I did have Thai.. Chinese and Japanese food…I think Korean too….Only had one meal that would be considered “American” cause I wanted to taste the different foods…Loved them all but I did find that by the end of my stay my hands ACHED to the point of serious achiness…It made me wonder if there was a lot of salt in the food that made my joints swell…..
That part was not fun…
Night all….
Oh yea…PS…Had me a Kobe beef hamburger once too….That was THE best hamburger second only to the vension burgers we had growing up that my father had got hunting…And trust me that meat was SWEET considering what those deer feed on were apple trees and fruit etc…These were not deer feeding on dry grasses…..
Oy…to have one of them again…NIRVANA!
Oh yessss I really love escargots!!
I tried once frog legs when I was a kid and I remember it tasted a bit like chicken but was way too much garlicky!
I should try it again …although, how could I….without having Kermit in mind??!
This said, when I had once deer venison in a Scandinavian restaurant, I didn’t think about Bambi! And yes it was very good. But I would love to taste the ones your Dad had got hunting, raised on apple trees and fruits! Hmmm…..
And yes I had a couple of times Kobe beef but as a carpaccio in a fancy Japanese-fusion restaurant. It was succulent but I’d much rather have a Kobe beef burger: I’m sure it must be truly Nirvana!
but I’m digressing )
(by the way, we know who works with Janice and won’t get Kobe beef for a long time…
So sorry for vegetarian people; I don’t mean to sound so carnivorous!
I actually really LOVE sushi too, as well as my veggies and salads.
And my cheeses!
See the problem is that I love to eat. From appetizer to desserts. From salty to sweet.
I admit I don’t really cook but love to eat good food.
….and therefore I’m ready to clean the dishes for whoever wants to cook for me…
or to bring the bottle of wine
Guillaume
I just heard about founder of the Benihana resturant chain passed away yesterday, and he served a lot of the Kobe steak you all have been talking about. I havent tried it before, it is any better than those NY style steaks.
I wonder if Kobe Bryant from the LA Lakers was named after it.
Guillaume-
If you ever drink wine, i hope you do it in moderation. Because it can have bad effects to your health, including liver failure. Red Wine is the only type i will drink, because it can help you heart combat disease.
Dawn-
Escargots? are you talking about dead snails? That sounds disgusting! I used to see it watching a show on the Travel Channel called Bizzare Foods with Andrew Zimmern. He travels the world in search for strange and weird foods.
I am hesistant to go on a cruise, because of all the Norwalk viruses you always hear about. It must be the food they serve on there.
I know what you mean, Hawaii is the mecca for international foods. They have all the cultures, all mingled into one. A lot of them are very salty, that is precisely why you need to drink a lot of water afterwards, so you joints dont swell up.
Margie-
Thanks for the link, it was very interesting and informative.
I didnt know you bought you DVD/VCR online, i usually dont want to purchase anything online, admist fears of ID theft and phishing scams. But if you ever are in a deptment store and come across a good price of a DVD/VCR player, please pass the infomation along to me.

If you ever drink wine, i hope you do it in moderation. Because it can have bad effects to your health, including liver failure. Red Wine is the only type i will drink, because it can help you heart combat disease.

Escargots? are you talking about dead snails? That sounds disgusting! I used to see it watching a show on the Travel Channel called Bizzare Foods with Andrew Zimmern. He travels the world in search for strange and weird foods.
I am hesistant to go on a cruise, because of all the Norwalk viruses you always hear about. It must be the food they serve on there.
I know what you mean, Hawaii is the mecca for international foods. They have all the cultures, all mingled into one. A lot of them are very salty, that is precisely why you need to drink a lot of water afterwards, so you joints dont swell up.

The only problem might be if a newcomer starts saying inflammatory and nasty remarks(as seen on GretaWire and Alisyn’s blog), but i am sure Janice will moderate those.
Red wine.
And if possible from Bordeaux cause it has less acidity.
Almost everyday.
but yes, Brad, moderation is the key word!
In everything.
Cause you are right: excess is bad.
But you should try escargots!
It’s DELICIOUS!

Brad…better a eating a dead snail than a live one …
Have a great day
Hey Dawn,
Great response! Personally, I don’t think I’d want to try a snail either way, though! I’m going to Red Lobster today with my parents before I head home so I’ll be enjoying some great seafood. I love crab legs so I’ll probably have something that includes those. Yummy!
Have a great day!

I remember in a Walker Texas Ranger episode, Chuck Norris was lost in the badlands, and he had to eat a snake to survive. I have never tried it before, so i have absolutely no idea how it is like, but he said he tastes like chicken.

I might consider trying Escargots one day.
Where you they serve them? Do you have to enter a local Chinatown restaurant to savor it?
