I might consider trying Escargots one day.

Where you they serve them? Do you have to enter a local Chinatown restaurant to savor it?

I remember in a Walker Texas Ranger episode, Chuck Norris was lost in the badlands, and he had to eat a snake to survive. I have never tried it before, so i have absolutely no idea how it is like, but he said he tastes like chicken.

Hey Dawn,

Great response! Personally, I don't think I'd want to try a snail either way, though! I'm going to Red Lobster today with my parents before I head home so I'll be enjoying some great seafood. I love crab legs so I'll probably have something that includes those. Yummy!

Have a great day!

Red wine.
And if possible from Bordeaux cause it has less acidity.
Almost everyday.
but yes, Brad, moderation is the key word!
In everything.
Cause you are right: excess is bad.

But you should try escargots!
It's DELICIOUS! :)

Guillaume-

If you ever drink wine, i hope you do it in moderation. Because it can have bad effects to your health, including liver failure. Red Wine is the only type i will drink, because it can help you heart combat disease.

Dawn-

Escargots? are you talking about dead snails? That sounds disgusting! I used to see it watching a show on the Travel Channel called Bizzare Foods with Andrew Zimmern. He travels the world in search for strange and weird foods.

I am hesistant to go on a cruise, because of all the Norwalk viruses you always hear about. It must be the food they serve on there.

I know what you mean, Hawaii is the mecca for international foods. They have all the cultures, all mingled into one. A lot of them are very salty, that is precisely why you need to drink a lot of water afterwards, so you joints dont swell up.

Margie-

Thanks for the link, it was very interesting and informative.

I didnt know you bought you DVD/VCR online, i usually dont want to purchase anything online, admist fears of ID theft and phishing scams. But if you ever are in a deptment store and come across a good price of a DVD/VCR player, please pass the infomation along to me.

And i dont think bloggers here mind whether we change the topic or not, we are like one big happy family, they can join in the discussion on whatever subject that interest them. The only problem might be if a newcomer starts saying inflammatory and nasty remarks(as seen on GretaWire and Alisyn's blog), but i am sure Janice will moderate those.

I just heard about founder of the Benihana resturant chain passed away yesterday, and he served a lot of the Kobe steak you all have been talking about. I havent tried it before, it is any better than those NY style steaks.

I wonder if Kobe Bryant from the LA Lakers was named after it.

Oh yessss I really love escargots!!

I tried once frog legs when I was a kid and I remember it tasted a bit like chicken but was way too much garlicky! :D
I should try it again ...although, how could I....without having Kermit in mind??!

This said, when I had once deer venison in a Scandinavian restaurant, I didn't think about Bambi! And yes it was very good. But I would love to taste the ones your Dad had got hunting, raised on apple trees and fruits! Hmmm.....

And yes I had a couple of times Kobe beef but as a carpaccio in a fancy Japanese-fusion restaurant. It was succulent but I'd much rather have a Kobe beef burger: I'm sure it must be truly Nirvana!
(by the way, we know who works with Janice and won't get Kobe beef for a long time... :D but I'm digressing )

So sorry for vegetarian people; I don't mean to sound so carnivorous!
I actually really LOVE sushi too, as well as my veggies and salads.
And my cheeses!

See the problem is that I love to eat. From appetizer to desserts. From salty to sweet.
I admit I don't really cook but love to eat good food.
....and therefore I'm ready to clean the dishes for whoever wants to cook for me...
or to bring the bottle of wine :)
