Dolly almost a Hurricane
Hurricane Hunters did find Hurricane Force winds around Dolly’s center earlier on today, but as of the latest 11am advisory, we’re still seeing a strong tropical storm.
The next advisory comes out at 2pm with the latest winds and co-ordinates of the storm, so we’ll have to see what the NHC finds. The storm track has remained pretty solid – moving into South Texas or Northern Mexico sometime tomorrow.
Exact time and strength is still uncertain – so all of the new information we get is crutial. As soon as the new advisory comes out, I will post here. For the meantime, you can always head here for details:
And for a peak at what Dr. Jeff Masters wrote on his Wunder Blog this morning, you can go here.
If you are along the Gulf Coast, and you see your weather changing as Dolly approaches, don’t forget to send them to Ureport! I’ll post them here, and we’ll get them on tv as well!

Janice I am headed that way Saturday, at least that was the plan. My brother is in Rockport, so far he has not evacuated.
You should be fine on Saturday Kathy! The worst will be over by tomorrow night!
Stay safe Kathy.
I work in Freeport Texas and the wind and rain have been coming in spurts now for about 2 hours. It gets pretty ugly then gets sunny. Texas weather is always like this.
Hey T- you guys need the rain too! Lots of dry land in the big state of yours!
Never fails I head to the beach a hurricane comes!
Hey Kathy,
Maybe you can head to a beach to the west! At least it’s going to hit before you go to the beach and not while you’re there. I think it would be very disappointing to be at a beach expecting sunshine and calm seas only to have a hurricane ruin the fun! I hope you’re whole family remains safe.
Take care,
Margie
Kathy-
I hope you stay safe and and take all the precautions to protect your life and property.
Take Care.
Stay Safe Kathy! Like everybody has said. I echo their sentiments!
Hey, Kathy:
I understand about how weather ruins beach plans! I finally have a day off today, and what happens? It rained here in the morning…then the sun came out later. But, of course, hurricans are a different and more dangerous situation.
Travel safely! And keep watching the skies.
Sal
Good job, except that crucial is spelled “crucial” not crutial!
Whoops! I forgot to spell check! I might leave it just to prove I’m not perfect! hahahah!
Janice-
