Go away Fay!!
Hi guys!
Happy Friday! Boy am I excited to get into the weekend ASAP!
Still watching Fay…and I’m sure Floridians can’t wait til this story is over and done with. The system is now making a slow trek across North Florida now bringing flooding rain, extreme winds, and the risk for tornadoes especially on the north side of the storm. 4-8 of rain is not out of the question in its path over the southeast. Beach erosion and obviously high surf will be a concern along the coast. The computer models are still a little spread out on where they eventually have Fay moving. Many of them forecast the storm to move across the Gulf of Mexico (possibly making a 4th landfall in the Florida Panhandle!) and or continuing west perhaps along the Alabama/Mississippi Coast. The further out we go in the forecast, the more uncertain the track gets.
Taking a look at the 11am advisory, here’s the track and a peak at those pesky computer models that are still in some disagreement:

There’s also a couple of new areas to monitor out in the Atlantic that could start to develop any day that we are watching…so stay tuned!
More coming up soon, and I’ll open up a Friday Open Blog!

Today’s forecast calls for Gators, with the possibility of a mix of snakes and fire ants. Oh yea, and some Ark raising waters.
I feel for you guys that have to put up with this. I mean everyplace has it’s own “problems”, but storms that become like your in-laws that never leave? Yuck!
Perhaps this tracking will result in the beginning of the end of this, at least for Fla.

Hey Janice,
I love that diagram of the computer models–they look as confused as I do sometimes! I just can’t imagine having to deal with so much rain and flooding–and alligators! Hopefully Fay will go away and they won’t have to deal with another one for a while.
I sent you a couple pictures last night. A few of my blogger gal pals and I took a “world tour” and I sent you a couple of our stops. We’ve been working on this behind the scenes this week. Next week we’ll meet up with some of the guys but I haven’t decided where that will be! You never know where we’ll pop up.
I’m looking forward to the weekend. I need to catch up on some sleep! These late nights with the Olympics are killing me, but it’s been worth it. I hope you’ll be able to rest up over the weekend. You’ve had a rough week with this storm and I hope it settles down a little. Rest up, eat lots of ice cream and have fun!
I wish everyone a great weekend.
Margie

Pat,
Having a great time. Just finished a fun meet with MimTn and part of his wonderful family.
Don’t want to say good-bye tomorrow.
Hope Ms. Janice shows some of the pictures.

Nine polar bears were observed in one day swimming in open ocean off Alaska’s northwest coast, an increase from previous surveys that may indicate warming conditions are forcing bears to make riskier, long-distance swims to stable sea ice or land.
Observers Saturday were looking for whales but also recorded walrus and polar bears, said project director Janet Clark. Many were swimming north and ranged from 15 to 65 miles off shore, she said.
