Hello Nana!
Well, she’s here, but she shouldn’t cause too much of a “stir” out in the Atlantic!
Nana should be back to just a low pressure system shortly and not affect any land. There’s another disturbance a few hundred miles south of Puerto Rico that could also develop in the next several days also, but for now, we’ll let Nana have the spotlight!

Have a great night everyone. Talk to you tomorrow!

My husband just received the alert about Nana on his blackberry and I came to post about it, but you beat me to the punch, Janice. Let’s just hope she continues to be sweet and gentle like Megyn’s Nana!!
Didn’t realize you were working today, we’ve had football on all afternoon. “See” you tomorrow!!
I do hope Nana will continue to be mild, as well.
Oh My….
NANA is finally making an entrance!!!!
This is truly an event!!
and yes, let’s hope she remains sweet & gentle like Megyn’s nonna!!!
(I actually think this time it is the opportunity to hear Megyn’s Nana comment live on her own storm evolution; producers at America’s Newsroom, are you ready??! )

The Ex List
Did you know that Oct. 16tx is “Ex Day”?
I know because I just visited the “The Ex List” web site:
http://www.cbs.com/primetime/the_ex_list/?source=Gfall
This is new CBS series that airs Fridays at 9 PM Eastern/Pacific. It stars Heather Reaser as Bella Bloom and is supposedly set not far from my home in LaLaLand — near and along Venice Beach. Bella Bloom runs a flower shop by the beach. She is a 30-something who seems to run into one of her ex-boyfriends each episode.
I find it amusing that Bella and her girlfriends often address each other as “Hey, Dude!”
Like, wassup wit dat?
Janice, is that how the women at FOX News address each other? I can’t quite see Megyn Kelly or Jane Skinner saying “Hey, Dude” to one another — and certainly not to The Weather Machine!

Its NANA !!
Kinda nice we got to this point with the added bonus of her just being a small disturbance to boot.
The “see a celeb” chit chat you guys have had…gotta add my .02
Ive seen a few people in my life who happen to be a celeb as well ….I too am of the thought that I dont bother them
(the only exceptions being when the situation was such that asking for autographs was appropriate….and even then I would get them for others….I have no personal interest in autographs)….and the expection to THAT is that unless it has to do with some piece of work of theirs….I have a couple of books that are signed by authors/public figures…..and one of those books was a gift given to me by a friend who used to work for one of these men….
I guess I value my privacy soo much that I figure people who happen to be celebs value theirs even more so…..So I am very sensitive to that and just let them be because I think I would want the same if I were in their shoes….Im very sensitive about being intrusive….
I cant even begin to imagine what it is like to have so many in the public wanting a piece of you all the time….Never mind sifting thru the “who do you trust” issue…..(although in many ways that is how it is set up in order to sell whatever “product” it is they are trying to sell….Movies, music, small screen/big screen…etc etc)…A double edge sword for sure…
Gotta be a balance somewhere…somehow…and I personally cant help but think that balance starts with remembering they really arent that “different” from “us”….that “they” as well as “us” are really just human beings living a journey…Even if that journey is a great deal different than ours….
I will say this though about the power of celebrity….It has a great power to do good….and to lift up others….and I have been on the recieving end of that positive uplift….
You see back in 1973 I was in Pittsburgh, PA for some experimental surgery…For 6 weeks I was in the hospital (from before Thanksgiving…thru my 9th birthday and right up until Christmas)….It was absolutely awful to be away from home and stuck in a hospital ESPECIALLY during the holidays/birthday….
BUT…I got to meet the 1973 Pittsburgh Steelers….(and I still have a fondness for them to this day)…Willy Stargle (sp?) of the Pirates….and the Pequins….
Kind of an odd things for a sick little 9 year old girl to appreciate for sure at the time…BUT I appreciated the brief smile that they helped me find for a few moments….Finding a reason to genuinely smile back in those days was pretty rare….And those athletes did, bless their souls…..
So I respect their privacy as celebrities…..and I respect them even more as human beings esp when they use the power of celeb to help bring smiles to those who are having a hard time finding smiles at the time….
Hope everyone has a great day…
AND a great week…
Oh yea…Gas around here is about 3.35-3.45….And Chattanooga is TOMORROW!!
Hey Dawn,
I hope you have a great week too! I’m with you as far as giving celebrities their privacy. It makes me so made when I see the paparazzi swarming all over them every step they take. If I saw one somewhere I’d probably just smile and say hello if I was anywhere near them. One exception to that would be if they were signing books or something. Then I would approach them that way. I did get to meet William Donald Schaefer when he was the governor of Maryland many years ago. I won prizes in a state sponsored photo contest when I worked for a state psychiatric hospital and I got to go to a special reception at the State House in Annapolis. That was fun!
Hey Janice,
For Megyn’s sake, I’m glad Nana is going to be a nice “gentle” storm!
Well, I better get ready for work. It’s my first day back after a nice long vacation and it’s hard to get motivated. I hope everyone has a great week!
Margie
Good morning everyone,
I don’t have to go to work today…yeah!!! It is always nice when a pending storm decides to be gentle. Pat O’Brien and Carol Channing…very elegant “stars” of yore, and the encounters were wonderful. Years ago now, but elegant stars for sure from an elegant era, I think….during a time when privacy was respected and the studios protected their stars. Not so now…and it is a bit sad, isn’t it? But, I don’t read “those magazines”, as I am too old and didn’t when I was young, as I was just too darn busy!!!
The ExList would definitely fall in that category also….not part of that dynamic either, but probably would not have been amused by that format when younger. Oh well…whatchagonna do??? First I was “too young” and now I am “too old”!!!!!!!!! ~~laughing~~ That happened over nite, seems like. In the mean time, Ohio is in the news with the ACORN debacle….so we are watching to see just what is going to happen. Hopefully they will reign in this questionable group, and make sure the voting in this great state, is above board. In the mean time, it is a beautiful day here in Ohio, sunny and crisp, and I am off, so can enjoy the day.
Hey guys…the gas around here is under three bucks a gallon…for regular. lol Need to fill up immediately, before it jumps again! Amazing isn’t it, that we would celebrate a lower price per gallon, when it is still outrageously high?? lol
