A “Teacup” Cute Break!

One of my buddies here at work, Steve Micherdzinski, has given us reason for a “Cute Break!”  He just added an addition to his growing canine family!  (He already has an adorable Pug and Malamute).  This is Lulu!  She’s about 4 months old, and is a Teacup Yorkie!  Awwwwww!

In Loving Memory of Dippity Doo

OK, you might be surprised to hear this from a big hunk like me, but I love Yorkies. Lulu is so cute!

When I met my roommate in 1968 (seems like yesterday!), she was living with two young women above a popular bar called Jay’s on the southeast corner of Bellevue and Rush Street in the heart of Chicago’s swinging singles scene. Across the street on Bellevue was another bar called Irving’s? (that’s right, Irving’s Question mark!). Other popular bars in the area were The Store, Butch McGuire’s, Shenanigan’s, Mother’s, and my favorite, Barnaby’s, where we often heard a young rock group called the Chicago Transit Authority.

When the Chicago Transit Authority recorded there first of many million-seller records in 1969, the real Chicago Transit Authority made them change their name. They did — to “Chicago.”

But I digress…. One of my friends roommates had a cute Yorkie named Dippity Doo, just like the hair-styling gel. Dippity Doo was one of the cutest dogs I’ve even known. We often got home at 3 or 4 in the morning. Dippity Doo always woke me at 6 AM to take her for a walk! I miss her….

To quote Bill Cosby, I think my children think that’s their name. ;)
