One week left…
Hi everyone
Well, this is my last week of maternity leave. I won’t lie — I’m very nervous to come back to work. I absolutely love being a mom, and cherish every moment I’ve spent with my young son. He has had a rough few months of his life despite the smiling baby you see in the pictures. Since very early on, Matthew seemed to be in pain often – especially when feeding. My husband and I thought he had colic, and we couldn’t seem to console him every time he would cry. After several doctor visits, we were told our little guy had reflux (GERD) and he’s now on some medication that seems to help him. It is heartbreaking seeing your baby go through pain and not being able to figure out what’s been wrong with him. Unfortunately, he’s still not out of the woods, and we need to monitor his symptoms and perhaps even change his dosage of medicine over the next few months. Thankfully, he should grow out of this as he gets older. Since the diagnosis, I’ve done a lot of research on reflux, and my doctor has told me that many babies like Matthew suffer from it, but get through it eventually. It makes me tear up just thinking about how tough his first few months of life have been. I would do anything to take away his suffering.
I do have some good news to report. I have found a wonderful Nanny that I think will take good care of my little boy while I’m at work. She is kind, considerate, loves children, and taught me a few things while we were getting to know one another last week! The most important thing is Matthew seems to like her a lot. Hopefully this is going to help me get through my first few days, weeks or even months of heading back to work. I can’t even imagine what that first day is going to be like handing him off as I go back to my life in the workforce. I’m trying not to think about it too much or I will be an emotional wreck! I salute all the working moms out there who have gone through this, and continue to juggle motherhood and a career successfully.
Anyhow, I wanted to keep you guys posted on what’s been happening. It’s been hard to update the blog over these last few months, but I wanted to keep in touch, and hope you will all send positive thoughts and vibes next Monday morning when I return to the weather wall.
Thanks to all of you who kept checking in during my Maternity Leave! I have been reading your comments when time allowed, and I promise to write back when I’m back on the job!
Janice (and Matthew!)
Here are some of the latest pictures from last week. The woman that you see in one of the pictures is my Doula Diana Antonelli who has been there since day one of Matthew’s life, and who nurtured, guided, taught and encouraged both myself, my husband and my son over the last few months. I adore this woman like a member of our family. I don’t think I would be the mother I am today without her help.

Hey Janice,
Thanks for more great pictures of that little cutie of yours! He is so adorable! I’m sorry that he’s had such a rough time eating, but I’m glad the doctor’s figured out what was wrong. I have a group that I call my “prayer warriors” who I ask to pray about certain things and I will ask them to pray for little Matthew and for you when you go back to work next week. I know that will be hard for you but you are a strong woman and you will make it through the transition. All of you will be in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you.
Take care,
Margie
My family had a son with GERD and he out grew it at 9 months. When he out grew it, you could not fill him up. Yes it is very hard on the mother and father when you have a little one with it. Cathy
Janice
My youngest who is now the lead mechanic for Continental had GERD. As I remember it lasted about eleven months.
The pictures especially the ones with the red hat are great. He looks a lot older in the red hat pictures.
Best of luck with your return.
Janice…
How unfortunate that the joy of having Matthew was tempered by the pain and heartache of having to watch him struggle with a medical condition…
That being said…So glad to hear that it’s most likely temporary and short lived…
Will send warm and peaceful thoughts to you and yours as you return to work…I know you know in your head it will all work out and be just fine…But your heart still will hurt and bleed for a bit…….
That’s hard for sure…Heart is in one place…Head is in another…
HUGS to you…
Janice,
Will be praying for you and Matthew as you head back to work. I know
it will be tough but it’s so great that you found a Nanny that you, Daddy and
baby Matthew like.
Can’t wait to see you back on the air!
Hello JD family. Janice, it doesn’t matter what age your child is, if they are hurting, you hurt (probably worse). That is a mothers love. So glad the gerd will soon go away. You can tell he is such a happy baby. Your first days back to work you can call call & call again to check on him. You will do fine, you have a wonderful ‘family’ @ Fox to help you through this transition. Soon, you will be able to help Megyn go through this transition. & the pictures…… SO ADORABLE!!!! The hat is great LOL Will be nice to have you back @ Fox. God Bless…………………………. I tried to get a pic of my first hummingbird of the season for you, little things are so quick. You have to put a stop to this HEAT, it is to soon in the year for 80s (I hate the heat). Have a wonderful week!
Cherie KY
If you have the time sit outside with the hummingbird nectar in a cupped hand. They will eat out of your hand. It is a real thrill.
Hi Janice,
Of course we are all excited that you’ll be back with us soon; but we understand your apprehension (especially those moms among us) about going back to work and leaving your child. It is one of the hardest things we ever do. From the very first moment that they’re born, you’re letting go a little bit each day. Life is filled with those moments, some are worse than others. You, Matthew, Sean and the nanny will be lifted up in my prayers in the next few days, especially on Monday. Hopefully, we (your blogging family) can be a source of encouragement for you in the next few days and weeks.
We also have fought the acid reflux problem with some of our children and grandchildren. It is tough when they’re little and can’t tell you where it hurts. The medication helps, and they do grow out of it; but these first few months with a newborn can really be tough.
Thanks for these adorable pictures. Matthew is getting cuter and more grown up looking each time you share them. He is such a little dandy!
Gwen
Dear Janice and Matthews,
We were saddened to hear about all the suffering your precious little guy has been having and you know Clare and I will be praying for you every single day that he will be all better real soon.
You would never know he has been so miserable as he always looks so happy and alert and interested in all that is going on around him, he is just adorable and there is so much personality in that sweet little face of his.
Also, you know how we will be thinking of you next week when you have to leave him in the arms of his Nanny while you are away at work……………………and we do though, look so forward to seeing you back on Fox and hope you let us know what time and program you will first appear.
So happy you have found the Nanny you were hoping to find to help you and Sean in the care of little Matthew while you both are at work.
So good to get your email today.
Our best and prayers Clare and AJ DeYoung
Thanks for sharing about Matthew’s health problem, Janice. I’m sure he will overcome this reflux issue.
Look at all the TLC he’s getting!
I hope his mom is getting a lot of TLC, too. I look forward to seeing you on Monday. I hope you are introduced properly each time:
“Here’s Janice Dean — The Weather Machine!!!”
Welcome back, Janice!
Your buddy,

We are looking forward to you coming back to work, but I know how very difficult it is to leave your little one. Happy you have found a very good person to help you out while you are at work. Just want you to know that my second grandson was born with GERD, and bless his heart, he was so sick. But, by the time he was about 5-6 months he had totally outgrown it and today he is 11, healthy and playing baseball. Again I say, welcome back.
Hi Janice! Hope you’re able to enjoy your last week of maternity leave. I’m sorry Matthew has had such a rough few months and I hope he grows out of it I’m actually dealing with a somewhat similar situation now with Mason. We were having such a hard time getting him to eat. He always seemed to be fussing while eating, even though he was hungry. The doctor kind of ignored it and told us to keep trying. Finally, we noticed blood when he had bowel movements. We were changing his diaper and in the middle of it, he pushed out straight blood. It scared me to death. We rushed to the ER and from there we were sent by ambulance to Richmond where there are a lot of pediatric specialists. They had IVs in him and everything.. it was the first time I saw tears come out of his little eyes – broke my heart!!!!
Finally we found out he has a milk protein allergy. He cant even break down soy formulas, so now we are on a special formula that’s REALLY expensive, but it’s worth it to have my little guy feel better! I felt like a bad mother, because I had decided to formula feed instead of breast feed, but as it turned out, I wouldnt have been able to breast feed anyway, unless I completely gave up dairy myself. That would be terrible! haha The doctors told me most babies grow out of it by 6-12 months, so my fingers are crossed that he will! He’s been on this new formula for just over a week and seems much happier now. He’ll be a month old tomorrow!
Janice, my one and only now 6 year old had GERD, and on several occasions, spit up so profusely it resembled the finest of the many fountains in Kansas City! With meds and a few books under the head of his crib, we all lived through it. Now for the tough part…leaving that little one…if you’ve done your research and have made a good choice on a nanny, which I am sure you have, he will do just great! I honestly believe, having been both a stay-at-home mom and a working mom, that they are as resilient as everyone says. And, as long as we remember our number one responsibility is to keep them safe, and we do that, they will be happy! It is important that us moms are happy and fulfilled as well, and sometimes that means working outside of the home. We’re not all shaped from a cookie cutter, and that’s ok too!
I’m looking forward to seeing you back next week!

Hi everyone, Wow what a day here, temps got up to 80+. Going from yesterdays weather to today’s. Priceless. Two confirmed bunny rabbits here, will try and get a picture of them. Make better stew I’m told however.
JD, one blessing is Matthew has access to some of the best Doctors in the world there in NYC. He will grow up to be a big strong man.
It will be awesome to see our JD the first lady of weather back on the air.
Hi There, Janice.
I pray that Matthew’s reflux problems will soon be over and also pray that you will feel and be encouraged by all the love and support of family and friends (including we blog friends) as you transition back to work. Thanks for sharing all that you have about your life thus far – I know you’ve been an encouragement to many who share similiar circumstances.
Tracy, I’m going to pray for you and Mason as well and also want to tell you my son (who is 19 now!) was a formula baby too, do not have a moment’s angst over that!! I’m glad the doctors were able to figure out what was going on.
God bless all the new moms and moms-to-be!!
At 10:37 pm and it’s still 80 here. Lost power 4 times in past 2 hours
Hey Janice so happy to see you back on the weather wall.
I know you are only leaving the little guy in body for the mother heart is alway near.
CHERIE in Ky put it so well so be it & prayer for the family & nanny too. Janice the picture are such a blessing. He look old enough for mom to leave him at this time. please trust in your heart that God is with all, even the tiny ONES to. His pain are gone soon with all the prayers . Love the pictures thanks.
Ohhh Tracy….How scary!!
Im glad though that you guys have a handle on it now….But I can well imagine the fear and anxiety prior to diagnosis….The unknown is often times a zillion times worse than the known……
You hang in there…and make sure you take good care of yourself as well as Mason….
Hi Janice & Matthew,
I can honestly understand the reflux problem. My son had it when he was little. His problem was he couldn’t keep any kind of milk down. That little boy could do projectile vomiting across the room!! Seriously, when he ate, we all knew to cover up because Jon was gonna spit up terribly after every meal. Sure didn’t seem like he was keeping anything down, but he was. At 3 months Jon was put on medication, I can’t remember the name of it now, but it was liquid that we fed to him in the bottle nipple before he had his bottle. After about a week, he stopped spitting up almost completely. I had a much happier baby & today, that baby is 13 years old, 5′8″tall, 161 pounds. He & I survived it.
You & the doctor may have to try different kinds of meds for Matthew, but this stuff can be controlled.Jon was on medication until he was about a year old.He did outgrow the reflux. Now he eats anything & everything with no problem.
Your in my prayers as always & special prayers for your little man.Thank you for the pics & on what’s going on with him.Hang in there Janice, now that you know the problem-it can be solved.
JD ~ Hang in there with the medical issues and return to work. Everything will be just fine ~ we’ll
be praying for you!
My vote for cutest picture is a tie between the first (I can’t resist a smiling, laughing baby!) and
the sixth with the open-mouthed, baseball-cap wearing, yelling photo. Thanks for sharing these!
We have some great pictures from NC ~ I promise to e-mail them at some point when my wife helps
me figure all of this out. Now she’s got a blackberry and really blowing by me. Maybe I’ll be able
to get some photos on my Facebook page too!!!
Have a great day!
Tony
Tony, I think the two pictures you picked are my favorites too. I love seeing little Matthew with a smile on his face!
Tracy, I’m glad you figured out what was wrong with little Mason & that things are improving. That must have been a scary situation. I’ll be keeping all of you in my prayers.
Hey to all the other bloggers out there!
It’s a beautiful sunny morning this morning & it’s only supposed to be in the mid 80’s today as opposed to the 94 degrees it was yesterday–yuck! I’m trying to recuperate from my adventure yesterday evening with my friend Heather. We took a trip up to the Lowes in Somerset, PA because our local store doesn’t have the things we need for various projects. Well, because of construction on the highway, traffic was detouring into Cumberland & it took me 15 minutes to travel 2 miles home from work. Then it took Heather and me at least a half hour to get out of Cumberland, which is a trip that only should have taken 5 minutes at the most. Then Heather & I seemed to see how many parts of our bodies we could cut, scrape or bruise with various items in Lowes! We’re dangerous together! The worst thing came when Heather climbed up on a small stack of railing sections to reach other sections that were up a little higher than we could reach from the ground. The stack started to slide & when I went to grab Heather I got hit right above my ankle by the sections & I got my leg caught–ouch! I got a big lump on my leg that still hurts! That’ll teach me!
Margie
Hey Janice,
Two of my granchildren had the same reflux problem, but they did out grow it. And they are fine now. But I know it’s hard to watch your lil’ man be in pain. But I know you are doing everything you can to comfort him. He knows he loved. You can tell by that big ol’smile on his face.
I’m glad you have found him a good nanny. She will fall in love with him.
I am looking forward to seeing you on the weather wall…I’ve missed you. We all have.
We are still having 80 degree temps, but rain is on the way for the next couple of days.
Take care,
Deb
Janice,
Two of mine had GERD, if you remember Dunk still suffered later in life. Recently (like 3 years ago) he was finally diagnosed with IBS. In kids it is very different symptoms. Anyway he is doing great, and he at one time was diagnosed with Failure to Thrive! It happens! He finally got the right meds.
I know leaving Matthew is hard, praying for you. They are so special, and the love is deeper than you ever thought about.
I will be glad to see your shining face though, and I know you can help Meagyn through this fun time in her life!
Hey everyone! Hope you’re all having a good week and Janice, I hope you’re enjoying little Matthew today!
I sent Janice a couple pictures of Mason a couple weeks ago and I sent her a couple more this morning, but I realize she’s got a LOT on her plate right now with getting ready to go back to work and might not get around to posting them, so I figured I could just post the link to my blog that I set up to keep my family and friends back home updated. There are TONS of pictures of my little guy on there. That way you all can see him and I wont have to flood Janice’s inbox with pictures anymore haha! (sorry about that, Janice. I just get carried away
)
so anyway.. my blog is mrsnegron.blogspot.com if anyone wants to see little Mason. I hope I’m allowed to post links on here. If not.. I apologize!
I’m going to go enjoy the sunshine before the rain sets in tomorrow! Have a great day!
Hi everyone
Rainy cool day out, compared to Monday.
Margie, sorry to hear you had such a rough time at Lowe’s. You should wear some hockey pads going in that store.
Better than going to Home Depot anyway, they cost many greenhouse operators money with their pay per scan policies for their business suppliers.
On other news, wow did everyone hear about Sen. Specter from PA? I’m not surprised, the Republican party will be better off without him in the party, put in a proper Republican, someone who’s a bit younger and able to read what he/she is voting on before they actually vote. Then you got swine flu hearings on Capital Hill, why is it so important to talk, talk, talk, talk, do something, I’m sure the fine American public wants to know action is being taken. Less talk more action.
Tony, Blackberry’s have a application to login to Facebook, works very slick. Once you use a Blackberry Tony, you will never want a plain cell phone or any other kind of smart phone.
Hey Peter,
Heather and I talked about wearing full body armor the next time we go shopping together! We’re making a trip to our local Lowes on Friday since we didn’t have time last night. With the traffic delays in Cumberland we got back too late to do it last night. I’m working on a landscaping project in my backyard and I’m buying some retaining wall blocks and edgers. Since Heather has a small SUV, she’s graciously helping me transport the stuff since my car can’t handle that much weight. We have to make two trips Friday so we don’t overload her car. I’d rather do it myself than to pay Lowes to deliver them. Heather and I are tough so hopefully we’ll survive this ordeal!
I did catch the news about Sen. Specter. I used to live in Pennsylvania and my parents still live there so I’m very familiar with the traitor, I mean senator. Hopefully they’ll get someone better for a senator.
Have a great afternoon!
Margie
Margie
You mean Judas Spector
Peter,
I don’t even know how to talk into my wife’s Blackberry. It looks like a calculator or something.
I just figured out how to program numbers into my phone, so I am unwilling to give it up just yet.
I don’t know why phones are “smart” or what they do, but for now I’ll have to stick with the free
ones I get at Verizon because I’d rather buy books than gadgets. I will have to just log in to my
Facebook page from my home computer (since I don’t use my laptop for the internet either).
I told you I was a dinosaur!
Tony
Hey gang.
JD…Reflux is pretty easy to manage. Kyle and Elizabeth both had it and outgrew it by their first bdays (with Elizabeth’s being on Saturday). He was able to avoid the meds, but she went on prevacid at 5 weeks and was able to come off it about 3 months ago.
Some of the lessons learned:
1. Keep baby upright for about 30 minutes after eating.
2. If you can get the blessing of your pediatrician, add a couple teaspoons of rice cereal to the bottle. The weight will help keep it down. Once he hits 4 months, you won’t have to have the blessing of the pediatrician.
3. Let him control how much goes down. Less more often may be better for him. Even now, a few days before her 1st birthday, Elizabeth only gets a 6 oz. bottle and 1/2 of a Gerber 2nd foods container. She’s perfectly happy with this. Sometimes the 6 oz. is too much, especially late in the day. It’s ok if they want less. Formula is more filling than breastmilk, so if he’s on formula, then keep this in mind.
I’m assuming that Matt is on an antacid now. If he still has problems, Reglan is another option to add to the routine. Elizabeth tried it, but the necessary scheduling didn’t work for her and it messed with her diapers. I’m not sure if it was an allergy, but I wasn’t taking chances either.
Elizabeth is still underweight, but her’s is only in part due to the reflux and how long it took to catch it. She’s got genetics as a big contributor. My mom and grandma are both tiny.
Good luck!
Hey Don, thanks, that sounds fun…… if the honey bees will leave me alone LOL I sat there last night forever, real still waiting for the humbird (while playing peekaboo with the chipmunk lol). I love playing with my little critters lol
Tomorrow, I go to the doctor to consult on my acid reflux, which seems to have gone away
after about ten months. I want to make sure I should discontinue my medicine especially as
an unnoticed continuance of the problem may cause damage to my esophogus and teeth enamel.
Just want to make sure and not self-diagnose.
Just played wiffle ball with my wife and kids at the baseball field for an hour and took a family walk.
Using muscles I haven’t moved in years. Plus, I lifted weights for two hours last night. Somebody
get me a stretcher, or help me to the couch at least!
Tony
Tony
Make a mental note in case you ever need other drugs. Some of the acid reflux meds have been found to cause other meds not to work. ie. Nexium has been found to cause Plavix to stop working. Because of this discovery I was switched to Omeprazole
Hey Don and Tony (and everyone),
If you want information on drug interactions (and all kinds of other information on drugs), the MedlinePlus database has a great section on drugs and supplements and under the precaution sections, is a list of drugs that may interact with the medication. Here’s the link:
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginformation.html
I hope you find it helpful!
Margie
Hey, Janice:
Hey, everyone!
Janice-have no fear, as the others have stated, everything will be fine…just hang in there.
I am off this week, so it is unfortunate that you are not yet on the air. Will have to tape Monday’s programs evidently.
I am not a parent, hence I know nothing about child care, but from the looks of the postings here, I reckon that you have been given some excellent advice.
I shall burn some sandlewood incense so that any evil occurances WILL NOT come your way.
Sal
Hey, Margie:
Wow, that certainly must hurt! Hope your leg heals quickly and the pain subsides quickly. Incense for you, too!
Sal
He is one little cutie Janice and he’ll only get better with age. Hopefully the GERD will go away with the correct meds and condition management. One of mine had it pretty bad but we had one of the best pediatricians in St Louis treating him and things cleared up in a couple of months. In addition to the meds, we elevated the head of the bed when he went to sleep and kept him in an upright or slighlty raised position otherwise. Have really missed you on the air during your time off. Can’t wait till your return. With such a great Nanny keeping things under control when you go back to work you won’t have anything to worry about. Enjoy the rest of the time off and see you soon,
Thank you Janice for sharing more pictures.
On one of them, little Matthew looks like he’s singing!
Truly sorry for the rough beginning with acid reflux.
But I had the same thing as a baby when my parents lived abroad.
of course, although my Mom was very worried, I don’t remember anymore! but it didn’t last too long and I grew up fine with a BIG appetite
So glad you found a Nanny you can trust. And yes it will take a bit of time to adjust going back to work but you will do just fine cause your “little intern” will give you all the energy and inspiration to do it!!!
bisous multiples
and hi to everyone!!!
Guillaume
Mornin’ everybody!
Very busy day yesterday…and expecting more of the same today. Better get my post in early since I’ll be pretty much tied down the rest of the day.
Margie, be careful in Lowes. BTW, that’s my favorite store. Hubby and I are in there frequently. I could spend hours there…much prefer that to clothes shopping. When you get your project done, maybe you’ll send us photos. It’s always fun to see what you’re up to.
Guillaume, it’s good to see you here. We miss hearing from you.
Dawn, let us know how the nursery business is going.
Cherie, I definitely want to see a photo of the hummingbird eating from your hand.
Friday morning we gather for a send-off of our local Army Guard who’ll be leaving for Iraq in June. They leave May 1 for Camp Shelby for their final training prior to deployment. Most of the guys (brother-in-law included) spent 2005 in Iraq. Some of their ranks never made it back, and some of them returned with life altering injuries. We will gather to show them our love, our support, our gratitude and our pride for the job they do. It will be a very bittersweet morning.
Must run for now. Catch y’all later.
Gwen
Hey Gwen,
I love shopping at Lowes, too. Although, as I found out Monday, it can be hazardous to your health! I’m amazed that my leg isn’t all black & blue from that ordeal, but I still have a lump that hurts a little. At least I didn’t inflict any bodily harm upon myself last night when I did the first part of my project. I got really dirty because I was working with dirt, but I used my circular saw & finished with all body part intact! I did take some before pictures and I took some after I got the first part done. I can send some in when the whole thing is done. I don’t remember if I mentioned this (and I’m too lazy to look through my old posts) but I’m replacing all the rotting landscape timbers around my house with retaining wall blocks of various kinds. There are a number of raised areas around the house and the timbers are pretty old and some of them are just falling apart. When I get this section done, I’ll be done all the parts that face my yard. I’m using fancier blocks for that. I still have the part that is along the fence on the one side of my property and I’ll have to take the chain link fabric down and approach that from my neighbor’s yard. It’s too hard to do it from my side with all the stuff planted and my little waterfall. I will definitely share pictures when I get each part done. I’m excited!
I’ll be praying for everyone involved in your local Army Guard send off on Friday. That must be an emotional time for everyone.
I’m out of space again!
Margie
Good Morning All,
And a beautiful morning too. Sunny and pleasant, birds chirping, frogs croaking, temps in the high 70’s today, no rain yet…but it’s coming.
Margie…sounds like you had a Laverne and Shirley moment, be careful, shopping can be dangerous! I hope your leg feels better soon.
Hey Gwen…I like Lowes too…I will probably buy my annuals there like last year…they had a good selection..and they were very healthy.
Tracy…I’m glad your baby is okay…I know how scary that is..my son had a allergy to milk too. He was on the soy formula.
Hey to everybody, have a great Hump Day!!!
Deb
Hey Deb,
You’re right that shopping can be dangerous! I think we did have our Laverne and Shirley moment–I’ll have to tell Heather that. Although, Heather may be too young to remember Laverne and Shirley since she’s 12 years younger than me. I’ll have to ask her. She may have seen them in syndication. (Having a friend who’s so much younger than me is great because she’s so full of energy and that can be contagious sometimes!)
It sounds like your weather is nice. It actually felt chilly this morning with rain and the temperatures being in the upper 50’s. It was actually kind of refreshing since it’s been so hot here lately. It got up to 96 degrees on Monday, believe it or not. Today and tomorrow it’s only supposed to be in the 60’s so that will be a nice change of pace. I’ll be able to get my house cooled down because it got pretty warm in there and April is too early to haul out my window air conditioners. This weather is crazy!
I’ll probably get a lot of my flowers at Lowes, too. I did last year and was happy with them. My daffodils and tulips are starting to fade but I do have some perennials coming up. I love flowers!
I hope you have a great day. I wish everyone out there a great day, too!
Margie
Hi Friends! Guillaume, nice to “see” you here again.
Peter and Tony, your phone discussion prompts me to write about a funny episode at my house last night. My son has an iphone and his girlfriend has a blackberry. I have a basic (free) phone and still feel inept using it. For example, I don’t text. My phone also has a camera and I have a lovely collection of pictures of the inside of my purse! Anyway, my son wants me to get a phone that I can use to access the internet because I moderate an email prayer chain for my church. That way, when an important request comes in, I would be able to get it out quickly whether I was home or not. Well, last night this started a “discussion” between son and girlfriend about whether iphones or blackberries are better and it was hilarious – just like those Mac vs. PC commercials. She finally won when I told them that I have to cut and paste alot to combine several requests into one outgoing message and my son, “Mr. Gadget” was deflated!! Of course, I won’t be getting either. Not paying for a high priced phone AND more monthly fees than I already am for the three of us to have cell phones, good grief, the bill is already high enough!!
Have a great day, All!!
Hey Gang,
Guillaume, we’ve missed you–I hope you’ll hang around with us!
When I got home this afternoon and checked the temperature I discovered that it was 30 degrees cooler this afternoon than it was yesterday. It was actually a little chilly out there today. The high was around 61 but that was at midnight and it’s been downhill since. My house is actually quite comfortable now. It’s supposed to go down into the 40’s overnight and since it’s 53 now, it doesn’t have far to go! I might have to put the heat on for a while.
Hey Gina, I love your story! I love all kinds of gadgets but I have a simple TracFone simply because I don’t need to keep in constant touch with anyone. Maybe if I had kids it would be different but my simple phone serves me quite nicely when I do need it.
Well, I haven’t eaten supper yet so I better get myself motivated. I hope everyone has a great evening.
Margie
Margie,
I like your statement: “I don’t need to keep in constant touch with anyone.”
While I probably think that that is really actually true for just about everyone, I know for certain
that it is definitely true for me.
Tony
Hi Gwen!
Thanks for asking…This past weekend wasnt too bad considering it was the last weekend in April which is never a bit month anyway…
May will be the test month to see just how people around here are feeling about the economy…One thing that I have noticed with the customers I have talked too is that since winter here in the North East was so snowy and cold that they are definately wanting flowers and veggie gardens…I also get the sense that the recession in my part of the state hasnt been overwhelmingly devastating as it has been in other places in the nation and in souther CT (near NYC)….
Now will the spend as much as they normally do?….That is another question….
We did get our last shipment of seedlings this week so transplanting is winding down…
Our flowers are looking absolutely beautiful!!…When I havent been at work I have been working on spring cleaning both inside and outside my condo…
Have some flowers in but not a ton yet (NW CT is expecting a freeze tonight…It is predicted to about about 35 degrees here in my area)
Cant believe its almost May!!…..We will be looking at half of ‘09 gone before you know it….Freaky!!

Hi everyone, Sunny, nice here today, nothing like the other day temp wise.
Gina: I’ve used many cell phones sometimes 2-3 at a time from different providers, and have found the Blackberry to be the best. I went for a HTC Touch phone for a few months, while it had wifi on it where I could connect to the net for free, you couldn’t type or do emails very fast. I’ve heard about tracphones in the US they are a dream for Canadians, we pay a great deal more than the average US citizen does,I I could fill a blog with all the things I don’t like the about the Canadian cell phone providers. There is a reason why Blackberrys have sold I think 50 million units, they are just the best (plus Canadian).
Hey gang. Just have a minute before crashing, but I saw on the local news tonight that our recent rains have Lake Limestone overflowing, so they are releasing record amounts through the flood gates. The Navasota River (which forms part of the border of our county) will crest at record levels over the next few days. Not going to impact us, other than the fact that Jason’s cousin and his family live right on that river, but they have a ton of property there. Not sure how much of it will flood.
Hey everyone,
Just checking in to say hello. Not much action on the blog today but I thought I’d say hello to whoever might be out there. It’s cloudy and only around 60 degrees in Cumberland today. That’s a far cry from the 96 we had on Monday. I actually had to turn the heat up in my house last night because it was a little chilly.
I had to come in to work a half hour earlier than usual this morning to videotape a 3 hour program. It’s amazing how much getting up a half hour earlier than normal can affect you. I’ve been so sleepy all day. The program was a special one geared toward doctors and office staff on proper coding so it wasn’t the most interesting topic for me and it was hard staying awake. I had a big salad for lunch and now I’m ready for a nap! At least I get to leave a half hour early so I only need to stay awake for 2 more hours.
I hope everyone has a great afternoon!
Margie
Hey Everybody,
My doctor confirmed yesterday that I can stop my reflux medication if I am free of symptoms and
watch it carefully. I won’t go out and drink a bottle of cabernet washing down a pepperoni pizza,
but I’m glad to be off the meds.
I’ve got my daughter’s friend over to play, so we’re headed to the park. Later!
Tony
Afternoon everybody!
Just checking in to see if anything was going on. I agree, Margie….looks pretty quiet in here today.
Hey, Dawn. I’ve got my tomatoes and peppers planted already. For awhile, they didn’t look like they wanted to grow. I think I planted a little early…when it was a little too cool. Now, they’ve really gotten some life in them and look really pretty. I’ve got 2 grape tomato plants in the upside down planters. The jury is still out on those….I’ll let you know.
Jennifer, wish you could send that rain our way. We’re pretty dry here…running about 5 inches below normal. Looks like we might be in for some more drought in our area.
I’m with y’all on that cell phone issue. Just give me one that I can make a call on when I need it. I don’t need fancy bells and whistles. I don’t have time to text or check the weather on my phone. Actually the one I have is a Sliver that I got from my oldest son when he upgraded to a newer one. Two of my kids have Blackberries, but I just don’t see the need to spend that much money on a phone. I’m pretty miserly most of the time.
Guess I’d better get back to work. Tomorrow I go to physical therapy for this crick I’ve had in my neck for the past few months. The dr has tried manipulations, but that hasn’t worked. We shall see if the pt does any good. Surely age can’t be a factor in these aches and pains I’m feeling nowadays. Naw…age can’t have anything to do with it.
Catch y’all later.
Gwen
Tony
Interesting that your doctor could make that statement without a scope.
Hey Gwen,
I hear ya about the aches and pains that come with age! The older I get, I’m finding out how many parts of my body can ache that never ached before! The good thing to remember is that one day we’ll get new and improved models and we won’t have to worry about aches and pains anymore!
I do hope the physical therapy helps with your neck. I’ll be keeping you in my prayers.
Take care,
Margie
Don,
Yes, well, it was interesting that during the worst of my reflux attack last summer, a gastro doctor
scoped me and did not even diagnose that I had reflux. My family doctor did that many weeks later.
I think it was just stress-induced last summer and has run its course. My doctor seemed to think
this would happen all along.
Thanks for the concern and raising important issues.
Tony
I am reading Viktor Frankl’s classic memoir of the Holocaust, “Man’s Search for Meaning” – one of those books you “should have read already but didn’t.” I came across this passage:
A thought transfixed me: for the first time in my life I saw the truth as it is set into song by so many poets, proclaimed as the final wisdom by so many thinkers. The truth – that love is the ultimate and the highest goal to which man can aspire. Then I grasped the meaning of the greatest secret that human poetry and human thought and belief have to impart: The salvation of man is through love and in love . . . . For the first time in my life I was able to understand the meaning of the words, ‘The angels are lost in perpetual contemplation of infinite glory.’”
Tony
Hey Folks,
I noticed that the paperback version of Hurricane of Independence is available for pre-order
at Amazon for about 10 bucks! It will include a preview excerpt of my smallpox book as a
very cool bonus feature.
Have a great day all,
Tony
Good Morning Gang!
It’s raining in my hood! I’m sure we need it.
Can you believe it’s already May 1st? Time seems to be slipping away so fast. Wow…where does it go???
Have a great weekend everyone,
Deb
JD…you and I have special days coming up next week? (5 and 9)
Hey Deb,
Thanks for the reminder that you and Janice have birthdays coming up. I hate to miss an opportunity to wish someone a happy day. I forgot my friend Lisa’s birthday this year so I need all the reminders I can get! Actually, I got Lisa’s birthday mixed up and I thought it was in May but it was in February. She’s been such a good friend but I’ve been a dope so I’m going to make it up to her and take her out to lunch next week.
Greetings to everyone else out there in blogland. It is hard to believe it’s May already. Summer will be here before you know it.
This month and next month will be very special for two new parents who will be celebrating their first Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Janice has a birthday and Mother’s Day all in one weekend–that’s pretty cool!
Tony, I wish you well with all your book sales. I’m looking forward to your new book! I hope all that goes well.
Have a great day and a great weekend everyone!
Margie
Hi..I’m a mother of 4, grandmother of 15 and great grandmother of 12 and some of out babies have also had the reflux problem. Now, having the same problem I sometimes find that liquids are the problem, and if you add just a wee bit of rice cereal to babys formula it will generally stay put and the baby will enjoy feeling full. I understand the doctors point, but how would you like nothing but liquids for a year. Babies get hungry. Our youngest would throw up, projectile, and older three would measure how far. A grandmother told me to add rice cereal to her water, since I was nursing, and try that. Did, and our baby girl slept for four straight hours without throwing up. What a blessing. It has saved some of our babies months of misery when they would start this, too. Of course, you sure don’t need to try it, and some feel doctors know best, just know this has worked on every one of our babies.
By the way, your baby boy is about the cutest little guy and love the expressions you catch on camera. He’s a real keeper.
Gloria,
That is quite a story! Ha!
God bless you with that big family. What a joy!
Tony
JD – take a deep breath and wear your water-proof mascara. You will be back home in just a few hours and Matthew will do just fine. Maybe you could install a Nanny-cam, just so you can see his beautiful face on your PC at any given time during the day. That’s what I would do.
It will be great having you back on air. I’ve enjoyed strolling with you and your friends through this exciting part of your lives.
Much luck and happiness!!!
C
Hey Gang,
It’s been a while since we celebrated any special observances so I thought I’d look some up to see what we can celebrate. It’s “No Pants Day” today but I recommend celebrating that in the privacy of your own home!
There are many national observances this month that make up a full meal, so if you’re hungry, here is what you can celebrate this month: barbeque, eggs, hamburgers, salad and Vidalia onions. It is also National Salsa Month but I’m not sure if that’s the dance or the food! Tomorrow is National Homebrew Day so you can wash down all the aforementioned foods with a little homebrewed whatever!
I’m glad I just had my lunch because otherwise all this talk of food would be making me really hungry. I hope everyone finds something fun to celebrate this month!
Margie
Margie
Sounds like you have a Reasons for a Party book.
Hey Don (and all),
This post might wind up getting sucked up in the vortex, but I want to give you the link to the great web site where I find all those crazy observances. They give “normal” ones too, but why be normal?! Anyway, if you want to check out other observances, here’s the link:
http://www.brownielocks.com/month2.html
Enjoy!
Margie
Gosh, Margie, I went around without pants on today and didn’t even realize that I was celebrating
an official holiday. I thought all those cars honking at me were for my nice legs!!!
Tony
JD and Matthew,
We watched all the morning programs hoping one of them would announce your return on Monday and what time slot you would be on, but didn’t hear any.
We will be thinking of you so much on Monday, and we know you will do good, because all of your dear bloggers will be praying for you and having positive thoughts for you that Matthew and his Nanny will be doing just great.
We hope his reflux problems will soon be solved with the right meds.
To the rest of you, we are so happy to be apart of such a great group of folks out there, we must all be similar to care so much for Janice from Day 1 with Shep.

Hey Don,
I’m glad you love the picture! That butterfly is one of my favorite pictures. It was taken at the Butterfly Conservatory at Niagara Falls, Ontario. Enjoy it during the month!

Hi all, I was busy all day, nice weather, windy however, power went off a couple of times, as I was installing some new routers on some computer. But great to have UPS’s. Some other areas lost power for hours due to the wind.
Looking forward to seeing JD on the weatherboard come Monday. What a party day that’s going to be for all of us Weather machine Bloggers.
Then a birthday and JD’s first ever Mother’s Day. WOW!!!!! Now all of those three occasions I call newsworthy.
Hey Gang,
Happy Saturday to everyone. I’m having a lazy morning this morning. I’m debating whether or not to go out to work on my landscaping project. It’s not that it’s too muddy from all the rain, but I woke up with a sore body from having transported about 900 lbs. of retaining wall blocks from Lowes last night. We had them load up the blocks at Lowes but Heather and I had to transport them from her vehicle by wheelbarrow to my backyard. Talk about tiring! Heather had a rough week and she wasn’t in the best of moods last night. I told her she didn’t have to help me but she said she was fine. I didn’t believe that for a second. Now I feel bad that she helped me when she felt so tired to start with. I think I’ll find someone else to ask the next time if I need anything heavy transported. Either that or I’ll pay Lowes to deliver it. I do have one more section to do and I just might have Lowes deliver those blocks since it’s a big section. We shall see…
I hope everyone has a great day. I know we’re all looking forward to Janice’s return on Monday. Janice, if you’re reading this, I just want you to know that you’ve been in my prayers because I know it will be a hard thing to leave little Matthew in someone else’s hands. We all are looking forward to seeing you back, though.
Have a great day everyone!
Margie
Hi Margie! Sometimes I think you are MacGyver, but sometimes I think you’re Wonder Woman!!!
Hey George, my favorite show on BBCA is Robin Hood – wish it would hurry up and come back for the next season.
Today I’m being lazy, reading the sixth book in a series I’ve recently gotten into. Not saying what the series is, definitely qualifies as “guilty” pleasure. I have found that the Kindle I got at Christmas is great for that sort of reading. No one knows what you’re up to, I could be reading “War and Peace” for all anyone knows!!
Have a great Saturday, All.
Janice why don’t you get yourself a web cam to put in your home and office. This way you can always know what is happening at home.
Hey Gina!
You gave me a good laugh! I think my body hurts too much to be Wonder Woman! I certainly don’t look like Wonder Woman! I think it comes from growing up with two brothers out in the country where we did all kinds of dirty outdoor stuff. I don’t mind getting dirty, which is a really good thing considering we had rain overnight and it was nice and muddy outside. That actually made it a little easier because when I removed the landscape timbers the wet dirt pretty much held its form until I got the blocks in place. Right now I am so tired and achy. I wish I had someone to give me a good back rub. It looks really nice so I’m very proud of what I accomplished. I’m especially proud that I remembered how to cut stone so when I had to cut a few of the blocks, they split perfectly along the line I chiseled in the blocks. All three cuts came out perfectly. I was really proud of that!
Now I think I’m going to stretch out on my bed and moan and groan for a while! I hope you’re enjoying your book while I’m outside getting dirty. I think reading will be on my agenda for tomorrow.
Have a great afternoon/evening everyone!
Margie
Happy Saturday Guys,
But………..it will be a happier Monday for all of us when Janice returns to the air but we know it will be the saddest for our dear friend when she has to say goodbye for a while to little Matthew.
Do any of you know what time or what program she will be on first so we don’t miss her return to the air we are really looking forward to seeing her again, wish like one of you said she could do the weather with Matthew on her back.
Clare and A.J. DeYoung
Clare and A.J. DeYoung…
Normally Janice makes her first hit during America’s Newsroom 9-11am (eastern) with Bill Hemmer and Megyn Kelly….
That is if there isnt some sort of news situation that bumps her…
Evening on a Saturday folks
Wow it began a nice day, then rain, nice, rain, rain, rain, rain, nice, this is all from 1pm to 5pm est.
I’ve looked into buying a Kindle as thought it would be neat to have, can’t buy it in Canada or get it shipped due to basically the Canadian cell phone companies, and some other reasons, many Canadians appear to be interested in them.
No other news better pre-emptd JD on Monday…………. Unless Obama announces he’s resigning.
Hi Peter,
We got some rain overnight but it turned into a beautiful day. I was able to work outside in my garden. It was very muddy but I like playing in the dirt, so it was fun! I have to scrub my kitchen floor because I couldn’t keep it clean when I went in and out working in my garden. I swept up the dirt but it really needs a good scrubbing. The only problem with that is that I’ll get it looking great and the next time I go out I’ll bring in more dirt. Oh well, I think I’ll survive. I’ll just get more exercise cleaning my kitchen floor.
I’m sorry you can’t get a Kindle up there. Hopefully something can be done so you’ll be able to get them in Canada.
Margie

Happy Sunday from the wet and cloudy NC Blue Ridge
Anxious to see JD in the AM… but I must agree with Peter. If Obama resigns, I could and would wait til Tuesday to see JD! We are expecting wet weather all week! Everything is turning green, but I would like to get in a good hike and cut the grass. And it is finally warm enough for a good Harley ride down the Parkway!! Our favorite thing!
Enjoy Sunday … Joni
Tony
My NOAA radio just went off. Your area is in for severe weather. Good luck
Kelly, thanks so much for your answer, that is what we watched Friday as usual hoping they would make an announcement but they didn’t. In California, it comes on at 6:00 AM but we will be watching.
Know with our of our dear friend Janice in mind that all of her buddies will be thinking positive for her tomorrow as she leaves her little guy for a little while.
Also, know we are all worried with her for Matthew and pray for them each day.
Clare and AJ
Thanks, Don. But, just got back from a weekend in DC and missed the severe weather, though we had cold and rain all day with touring with the kids. I signed 30 books and made a donation for seminarians that I am tithing from my book proceeds to the Knights of Columbus. I am a proud member of this world-wide fraternal and charitable organization. Rarely met a finer group of patriots. After a delightful evening in with our friends over a very yummy Mexican dinner and beers,
we toured today. We drove by the GW, TJ, and AL memorials and the White House. My daughter asked when the Obamas are going to move and whether they have to take all their stuff. My answers were “Not soon enough,” and “Definitely.” Nevertheless, we walked close to the Capitol and went to the Smithsonians ~ Air and Space and Natural History. Both very cool. Next time, American
History and the National Gallery of Art. Got my son a set of different die-cast rockets that preceded
the Space Shuttle and my daughter a scientific history of the universe and solar system. Had some
Starbucks to warm up since I was in t-shirt, sandals, and pretty miserable whenever we went outside.
The weather notwithstanding, we had a lovely day together. My son was amazed by the assortment
and variety of license plates. That’s all he talked about outside and keep track of 3 Californias,
2 Floridas, 4 Texas . . . etc.
Have a lovely night.
Tony
God bless the soul of Jack Kemp ~ a visionary who stood for the ideals of lower taxes and less government.
Hey Tony,
The only thing worse than sightseeing in DC in the rain is sightseeing in DC in the snow. At least you didn’t have snow to deal with but a cold rain isn’t much better. I haven’t checked for a little while, but we were approaching 3/4 in. of rain for today. Added to all the rain we’ve had the past week, and we’re plenty soggy in Cumberland. I hope you have dried out and warmed up by now.
I have a question for you–do you get to dress up in those cool uniforms that the Knights of Columbus wear? I’m not sure if they’re just for officers or dignitaries of some sort, but they look pretty spiffy in those uniforms.
I’m glad you had a great day and I hope you get a restful night’s sleep.
Margie
Hi Margie, I’m sure your house is spotless even with a bit of outdoor mud on the floors.
I’d enjoy seeing Washington in snow as it’s rare from my understanding.
Hi Tony, Perhaps your daughter knows something the rest of us don’t.
Out of the thousands of speeches the former Pres. George W. Bush gave, I’d say I heard most of them over 8 yrs, and the years he was running to get the nomination and enjoyed hearing him speak, and you know I’m soooooooo sick of President Obama already, (Mr Teleprompter.)
On the subject of Jack Kemp, I agree he was a great man, think if he had became Vice President.
Hi, Janice,
I’ll be watching America’s Newsroom between 6 AM and 7:30 AM on Monday morning to see you on your first day back!
Good luck!
George
Hey gang.
I guess by now most of you have heard about the collapse of the Cowboys “indoor” practice bubble. Thankfully, the injuries weren’t life threatening and everyone live to tell about it. I was in the Dallas area at the time of the accident and the Dallas local media went wall to wall with the story for better than 3 hours (at which point I took a much needed nap). The raw video was incredible. The ABC affiliate had video of the collapse as it happened, literally. Stephen McGee (rookie QB) and Dat Nguyen (linebackers coach) are both Aggies and were in the facility at the time. After talking to a friend who is an insider in the athletic department at A&M (more specifically w/ the football team), both were uninjured. What some of the media types that were in there at the time said was that once they figured out there was a problem, they tried to get out, but the winds were working as a suction basically on the door and they couldn’t get out. Maybe Janice can explain how this works. The local weather guy called it a microburst.
Now for the warped angle on it. Cowboys fans all know that the hole in the roof at Texas Stadium is so that God can watch His team. The only thing that I could think of (besides being thankful for no loss of life) was that God wanted to watch His team practice as well.
BABY NEWS!!!! Megyn’s not the only one pregnant! I just got the positive test!!!!!! Prayers have been answered!!!!!!!!! I haven’t even been able to tell Jason yet (but I don’t have to worry since he doesn’t read this). Please pray that I can figure out how to handle the boys as well as a toddler and newborn! Now I really feel guilty about the glass of wine that I had with dinner the other night before I suspected anything. I’m hoping for another girl to balance things out.
Speaking of baby news, we celebrated Elizabeth’s birthday on Saturday. I can’t believe it’s already been a year! The pictures from the first round on Thursday night with my dad are up on my facebook page.
Ah Tony,
So nice to hear you speak so highly of the Knights of Columbus! My Grandfather and my father are Knights. Dad is still very active in his Colorado Springs Knights! There are so many nice fellows I meet when I am back home visiting my folks who are all K of C. Real men, real spirits and most of all character to be PROUD of! Hmmm… my dad!! who by the way will turn 81 next week!
Best to you JD today, thinking of you and know you will do fine! It will be wonderful to see you live!
We have missed your wonderful smile and great humor!
Cool, foggy, wet Blue Ridge today! Turkeys in the backyard this morning when I was putting out the bird feeders and hummingbird juice! My husband has been calling down the bank to the turkeys and they are talking back!
Enjoy your Monday! Is it too early to help the Obamas starting putting boxes together?
IT’S MONDAY, WELCOME BACK JD!!!!!!!!!!! I know you are sad right now but all will be fine. hugs
Jennifer…Congrats!
Yes you certainly will have a lot on your hands with 4 small children!
Janice will be making her first post-maternity leave appearance on America’s Newsroom ….She normally shows up within the first half hour…
ANd I know what she is going to say for the North East…cloudy rainy drizzily for the next several days….
We here in the CT Valley are down about 5″ when it comes to rain so we can use it….
Welcome back Janice! We viewers have missed your smiling face!
Yes, ladies, the K of C are a fine organization of faithful, patriotic, and civic/family-minded men, indeed! No, Margie, I am not a member of the color guard who wears the regalia, though I was the
Grand Knight of my council last year, and I am a 4th-degree member (the highest). The wives who
were at the convention were a group of fun-loving, supportive, and delightful ladies to speak with
throughout the day.
Jennifer, congratulations on your wonderful news. The angels are singing to celebrate!
Tony
Congratulations Jennifer! You will have your hands full with all those kids. I hope everything goes smoothly for you!
Margie
Hi Janice: Congratulations on an adorable baby. My grandson, who was 2 in Nov. had reflux. He was on medication until he was 8 mos old. They do seem to outgrow it, so I will keep you in myprayers that Matt will outgrow this soon as well.
Oh Janice
I am so sorry your heart is breaking so… We love you…. Big big Hugs!!
Hey Janice,
I wish I could give you a big hug right now! Hang in there sweetie and know that you’re in my thoughts and prayers. I can’t talk from experience, but after reading the many comments from mothers on your blog, things will get easier with time. God bless you.
Margie
Welcome Back Janice, look at it this way your little guy gets to see mommy on the TV. The best part is so do We!!! Great to have the Weather Machine Back with us, and Matt will be just fine, keep the great pictures coming!
I just saw Janice on her debut after her maternity leave. It was so sweet and touching. It’s so nice to see such natural and normal people on the news. I cried with her, remembering when I had to go back to work after my son was born. My son had some very serious conditions, requiring nurses 18 hours a day. I did have the confidence I was leaving him with a nurse in my home, but it was still hard. He’s 21 now, will be dealing with these conditions the rest of his life, but he handles it all well and is still the light of my life!
It’s so great seeing you on Fox News again, Janice.
I saw you shed a few tears as we approached the 8 AM (Pacific) mark and Bill Hemmer mentioned Matthew.
Megyn will know exactly how you feel in a few months.
Always remember, Janice, that you are the best, the brightest, and the most beautiful weather person on television today. And, Janice, you also are:

Good morning all!
Just back to work after my physical therapy this morning. Not sure if this is going to help this neck problem, but the neck muscles are definitely sore. That’s to be expected according to my therapist. He’s a really cool guy from Louisiana (neat Cajun accent). His in-laws have a cattle ranch in DeSoto Parish and they had more than 80 trees down from the storms yesterday. Also, power is still out in all of DeSoto Parish. We didn’t have anything that severe around our parts….just rain. We got almost an inch…badly needed. We’re hoping for some more before this system moves out.
Deb, I see lots of flooding in TN. Are you having any problems up there with that?
Congrats to Jennifer. A new one on the way is reason for celebration. I’m sure you’ll manage quite well, but I can totally relate. Four children can certainly be a hand-full for mommy. We’ll say a little prayer for you.
Margie, I need you to come down and help me with my landscaping. HA! Sounds like you can do it all…even the masonary work. I don’t mind the getting dirty either since I’ve always been a country girl (tomboy) at heart.
JD, You’ve been in our prayers and we’re all glad to have you back. Hope you can feel the collective warm thoughts that are going your way today.
Better get to work. So much to do…so little time. Catch y’all later!
Gwen

Welcome back Janice!
You look beautiful today…and I got a little teary eyed when I saw those tears in your eyes. It will get easier sweetie.
Jennifer…Congrats and best wishes…you really have a full plate!
Gwen…Lots of rain here but no flooding in my area..I live on a mountain top. I hope the therapy helps your neck pain.
Speaking of rain…it has rained for days..can’t wait to see the sun shine again. Hopefully 2morrow!
Hey to All…have a great Monday!

Janice,
You have been on my mind all day as I saw you this morning with Bill Hemmer and Megyn Kelly talking about your first day back to work being a little tough. I have a 13 month old and remember vividly how hard it was to leave her at day care my first day back to work. She also had a hard time her first few months and I know the heartbreak of not being able to help your baby feel better. Anyway, I just thought I would let you know that I am saying special prayers for you today and I wish all the best for you, your son, and your family.
