Janice, I just saw you on “Happening Now.” You looked absolutely gorgeous, ravishing! Being a young mom really agrees with you!
John and you were talking about the lousy weather in Maine, where Jane Skinner is vacationing. Guess I’ve always been lucky because the weather in Maine was always beautiful when I visited.
I once worked with a young woman in Chicago who grew up on a small island off the coast of Maine. Her dad was the postmaster. I believe she said there were about 600 people living on the island. Her dad began work at 6 am and was usually done by 1 pm. Nice work if you can get it!
JD,
Would it be possible to move that “HOT” and 101 away from my area in Texas? When it was only in the mid to upper 90’s a day ago, it felt like a cool wave. I hope all have a pleasant and safe 4th. JB
If I could, I would send my 72 degrees down your way! I was out at lunch and it actually felt a little cool with the cloud cover. I bet the mid 90’s felt pretty good after triple digit temperatures. (Isn’t it sad when you think 95 is “cool”?) Hang in there and I hope it really cools down for you soon.
Happy 4th of July to you and to all the bloggers out there!
I second that request of JB’s, Janice! It says HOT right over my house!!!
What was really crazy is that yesterday my husband drove home from Austin. When he left there it was in the 70’s – two hours later he was sweating buckets as he unpacked his truck in our driveway in San Antonio. Oh, and we didn’t get a drop of the rain we’d hoped for. Perhaps Jane Skinner we can make a trade with Jane Skinner!!
I’ve been MIA for a day or so due to some problems at work that have completely consumed my time. I am in serious need of a day off….oh that’s right, I get one tomorrow. Not a minute too soon! I plan a serious day of lounging around, flittering away my time, and otherwise just doing nothing!
Yep! It’s still HOT and DRY! It was 100 again yesterday! We were hoping for a chance of rain, but all we had was thunder and lightning in the distance. Hopefully, we’ll see some rain in the next few days. We’re in “drought” and “burn ban” conditions around here again.
Better run. I’ve got a mountain of reports to file before I leave here this afternoon. Catch y’all later!
Gwen
Our forecast up here is Alaska should be in the upper 60’s to low 70’s with isolated thunderstorms. It should be a great weekend. No king salmon fishing in the Mat-Su Valley but thats okay. I have 36 Copper River Sockey Salmon fillets in my freezer right now. I think that will tide us over for the winter.
Hi David! Nice to see your comments on the blog! And I always love your insight when it comes to babies! I wish we had time to puree our own food for Matthew! We’re using the organic baby food right now…and I’m going to try the carrots and sweet potato next week! Wish me luck. ANd BTW, that fish in your freezer sounds AMAZING!
just wanted to say hello to everyone!!! sorry it’s been so long! last time i updated was after Mason’s 2 month appt.. he’s now 3 months! time is flying and he is getting more and more demanding of my time (hence the lack of replies on here). He’s perfect and I loooove being his mommy!!
I think the weather is supposed to be pretty nice here in VA for the weekend! The momma-in-law is comin to town, so hopefully it stays that way so we can get out and enjoy the sunshine! Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th and I promise I’ll try to check in more often!
Hi Tracy! Totally understand how busy you are these days! Let me just say you have some of the best times ahead with Mason! I just love spending time with my little guy. Every day is a miracle!
Yesterday was the first day in a while it wasn’t in the 90’s. Only hit 86. This morning it was 65 and no humidity at the dog park. If it would only stay this way weather wise…I could get to like Richmond.
Hey Don! 86 sounds pretty good to me. I’m actually enjoying the “Seattle-type” weather here in the Northeast. I can do without the 90 degree heat and humidity!

Hiya JB! Yeah, I know — hot as heck there in Texas! Hopefully you’re by a big pool or a big airconditioner since everything is BIG in Texas!

Hey Gina in San Antonio! I’m sure Jane would love one day of sunshine and the heat!
Hope you’re keeping cool somehow this weekend!
