Hi JD,
I just caught you and Matthew doing the weather a short time ago. I was in the kitchen making a strawberry cake (ala TN Deb) when I thought I heard your voice in the living room. When I went in to check, there you and Matthew were doing the forecast. He handled it so well and wasn’t even nervous in his forecast debut. He’s so adorable!

We’ve had a quiet 4th so far. We’re doing our activities later to beat the heat. Yep, it’s still hot! We do, however, have a chance for rain in the next few days. If it does rain I might just have to go out and run around in it in my underwear like I did when I was a little girl. (Yeah, my Mama let me do things like that!) You realize, of course, that I live in a very rural area and no one would see me if I did decide to do a “happy dance” out in the rain…except for my husband, sons, daughters-in-law and grandkids. They already know I’m a bit eccentric, so it probably wouldn’t be a big shock to any of them.

Better run. We’re cooking out hamburgers and having fries and baked beans….and strawberry cake. Hope y’all are having a great 4th! Remember to hug a service member if you get the chance. Well, maybe you should just say “thank you”. I’m going to hug my guys, however.

I saw Matthew and you at 1:19 pm Pacific time, Janice. Both of you looked great! It was really fun seeing the two of you on TV.

I just got back from my aunt’s house so I missed Matthew’s debut but I thank you for posting it on the blog. He’s a cutie! I’ll make sure I show that to my parents before I leave tomorrow. He did a fine job for his first time and he wasn’t too cranky. Thanks for sharing with us!
