Finally…nice weather!
Hello everyone
Well, we had probably one of the nicest 4th of July weekends in terms of weather in recent memory. Lots of sunshine, and warm temperatures without the humidity. I had my little Matthew in Central Park for most of the afternoon yesterday. We had a picnic, and then watched some really great street dancers grooving to Michael Jackson music! Matt was facinated with their moves! Perhaps I will have a little dancing machine to keep me company on the dance floor!
We should see improved weather this week across the Northeast for the most part. Still stormy across the south as a frontal boundary acts as a focus for showers and thunderstorms throughout the day from the southeast back into Texas and along the Gulf.
There’s also the chance of strong to severe storms for the Rockies and the Northern High Plains. Otherwise, a pretty quiet start to the workweek.
I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July Weekend! As you can see in my earlier post, I had to work Friday and Saturday, but had some company with me over the weekend
Matthew is starting to get used to a lot of camera time these days!
I’ll take a peak to see if any of you have sent in some pictures for me to post – otherwise, I will get to some of your comments later on this morning!
Have a great day everyone! ( I couldn’t resist posting this picture I took last week of my little man in his surfing outfit!)
Janice

Hey Janice,
Great picture of the little man! He is so cute! I’m glad you had a great day in the park yesterday. It was beautiful in my neck of the woods, too. As I drove home from my parents, I couldn’t get over how clear the mountains looked. Usually around this time of year it’s really hazy so it was a treat to see things so clearly.
I hope the weather is as clear tomorrow because my friend JoAnn and I are taking a day trip to Blackwater Falls and Spruce Knob in West Virginia. It was foggy this morning but now the sun is shining brightly. I hope we don’t have fog in the early morning tomorrow because we’re leaving early and heading into the higher mountains of Western Maryland to get to Blackwater Falls. Those mountains are not fun in the fog!
I’m in the library today that’s in a trailer attached to the hospital and I actually had to turn the heat on for a little while this morning to take the nip out of the air. It got down to 56 this morning–that’s cold for July! Now that the sun came out, it warmed up in here and now I have the air conditioner on–go figure!
I hope everyone has a great day! I will be MIA from the blog tomorrow as I will be wondering around the mountains of Western Maryland and West Virginia, but I will have plenty of pictures to share when I come back! I’ll be around today so I’m sure I’ll have something else to say later. You know how I love to talk!

Hi Janice,
Just saw your headline “Finally…nice weather”. I’ll say “Amen” to that. I woke up about 4 this morning to the most blessed sound….rain and lots of it. No, it didn’t rain as long as I wanted it to; but there for awhile it was such a heavenly sound. I would love an entire week of it. Even though it stopped shortly thereafter, we are having lovely, cloudy skies with a high in only the mid 80s. Yea!!! Such a beautiful day!!!
Hope all are having a great day as well. It is busy, however. That’s the price you pay for a day off. Oh well, nothing is going to bring down my mood today. I’m just so happy to see the rain!
Catch y’all later!
Gwen
Hey Gwen,
I’m glad someone else is blogging today because it’s been way too quiet.
Hey Everyone,
I just realized that since I’m going on my trip tomorrow I better remind everyone today that tomorrow is Chocolate Day so celebrate accordingly! Maybe I’ll buy a chocolate bar and eat it at the summit of Spruce Knob. Of course, summiting Spruce Knob is pretty easy since you can drive all the way to the top! There is a hiking trail around the top of the mountain which offers some beautiful views of WV and Virginia so maybe I’ll eat my chocolate while I’m hiking and that way I can burn off the calories! There’s also an observation tower up there so I’m really looking forward to some beautiful vistas (and beautiful chocolate!)
Have a great afternoon/evening everyone.
Margie
JD,
Thank you for the video of Matt the Weather Machine and also the Surfer Dude, we don’t know what it is but when he looks at that camera and his Mommy or Daddy he is really looking into that camera with so much personality, we just cannot believe he is only 5 months old, there is sooo much personailty in that little face and that little cat like grin he always has.
Gold Bless the 3 of you.
