Snow covered Patriots game!
Did you guys catch the Patriots game this weekend against the Titans? Yes, it was a crazy-scoring game at 59 to nuthin’, but what caught my eye was the snow in the background and on the field! It was the earliest snow on record for a game at Foxborough – earliest “snow game” in franchise history! Do you think this might’ve helped the Patriots and Tom Brady who passed for a record 5 touchdowns in the second quarter? Pretty awesome stuff.

We didn’t get quite the blockbuster storm some forecasters were predicting this weekend, but enough to give us a taste of what’s to come. The good news is the northeast will get a break from the storms, and even warm up to some seasonal fall temperatures.
The rest of the country is quiet – with exception to the West where we have a system moving in – bringing rain and mountain snow from the Northwest down into Central California. Not much in the way of rain or snow accumulations as the storm pushes east.
And Hurricane Rick made history this weekend in the Pacific as the 2nd strongest storm ever in the eastern Pacific. It was at one point, a category 5 storm with peak winds at 180 mph. Thankfully, Rick is weakening, but could still hit the southern tip of Baja California as a minimal hurricane. Here’s a look at this awesome hurricane at its strongest courtesy of NASA

I hope you all had a good weekend despite the gloomy weather in many areas.
Talk to you soon!
JD

Hey Janice,
My weekend wasn’t anything special..but I did enjoy it as always… we had a heavy frost this morning..it looked like a light snow. It beat the one from the night before. This continues are weird weather pattern…we usually don’t have frost til Nov. and our temps are usually in the mid 70’s, but we have been way below that. But, hopefully it is going to warm back up midweek.
I didn’t watch the game, but I did hear about it. Wow, how embarrassing for the Titans. A big ol’ NUTIN!
Hope your weekend was good as well as the week ahead,
Deb
Hey Deb. I like uneventful weekends!
We’ve had such a busy last few weeks, it’s nice to just stay close to home! You should have a lovely day in store today!
Dear JD,
Again…….thank you from the bottom of our hearts for those wonderful family photos of Matthew’s first Canadian Thanksgiving trip with his family from there and with his Mommy and Daddy. Some of your relatives we could see the resemblance of you and Matt and it looked like you all just had a fantastic wonderful time.
You know we can never, ever get enough of those Matthew and Mommy and Daddy pictures, you would never, ever tire us out with those and all about your life.
Hope home hunting has gone well and is getting exiting.
You looked mawvalus today in that blue outfit and JD are you loosing weight, it sure looked like that in todays weather shots.
In case you didn’t read our last email, please remember if you can Clare on his 90th birthday on December 2nd.
We never know when is the good time to blog back to everyone to get a reply.
Have a wonderful week.
Clare and A.J.
Hello Clare and AJ!
I will try to remember Clare’s bday, but please feel free to remind me!
Thanks for the kind comments…Nope, haven’t lost weight—the blue jacket might just be too big! hahaha! Glad you like the family pictures, and if all goes well, we will hopefully move into the new house by Christmas!
Hey Janice,
I watched part of that football game but there were other games on at the same time that were closer and more interesting. My dad & I are ready to give up on the Redskins–the most pathetic team in the NFL. They were disgusting yesterday. The Steelers won & Brett Favre & the Vikings managed to pull out a really exciting victory over the Ravens so that was great!
We finally broke the 50 degree mark yesterday and today is an absolutely gorgeous full sunshine day. It’s only in the 50’s today but tomorrow it’s going to be close to 70. I’m looking forward to that! I actually had to scrape my car windows this morning. I was surprised at how hard the ice was. It got down to 31 degrees but I didn’t expect it to be so hard to clean my windows.
I’m going to send you a couple pictures this evening. I had a meeting at Braddock Hospital this morning & on my way back to Memorial I dropped something off for my boss & decided to take a few pictures. I got a great picture of the new hospital from the window in my library area. I also took some of the front of the hospital so I’ll send you a couple this evening.
I’m going to be a “patient” in the new hospital on November 15th. They’re looking for volunteers to help test the patient flow in the outpatient services area so I decided to volunteer. It sounds like fun. They’re providing lunch for us before we start so that will be nice. It should be an adventure!
I’m running out of space so I’ll wish everyone a great day!
Margie
Hey Margie – got the pics…posted them this am!
JD,
Thanks for posting the pictures of your family trip. Matthew gets cuter and more mature every time I see him. Such a happy baby! We never get tired of seeing his exploits.
How can it snow in mid-October when we have global warming? Al Gore can’t be wrong! Those snow clouds must be controlled by a vast right wing conspiracy. Only possible explanation.
We finally had some dry cooler weather over the weekend. It was great until the wife fell outside and broke her arm. At least it is a little cooler here so wearing a cast won’t be too uncomfortable.
I hope all had a good weekend and are having at least a tolerable Monday. JB
Margie, at least the Redskins have won a couple of games this year. Tennessee, Tampa Bay and St. Louis are still winless. It could always be worse!
Hey JB!! I’m sorry to hear about your wife’s arm! That’s awful. I hope she has a speedy recovery! And yes, I would love to hear Al Gore’s reasoning behind all of these record breaking cold temperatures and historic snow!!!
I could not believe the KC, Redskins was televised. Margie, the skins will have a new coach real soon.
The Giants looked bad yesterday.
If the Titans played KC or the Redskins they might have a chance to win a game.
The last few minutes of the Ravens Minn game were really exciting. Missing a 40 yard kick in a dome is inexcusable.
Hiya Don! Hope youre doing well! Sounds like you’re up on the latest football news. I have to admit I usually just watch the playoffs!
Hey there, Janice. Glad to you are going to be around for awhile! That Hurricane Rick is something else, isn’t it? Couldn’t believe the perfect roundness of the eye on radar you showed this morning.
I would appreciate everyone’s good thoughts, wishes, prayers please. My husband has an opportunity to retire from the Army and move into a job with another federal agency. It would bring alot of good things with it including a good salary and the ability to stay in Texas. Thanks!
Hi Gina! I’m sending good thoughts and vibes your way! I feel the same about my husband retiring from the FDNY. He’s got a few years left, but I will breathe a little easier once he leaves!
Yes I saw the snow. Yesterday was my niece’s wedding and she had planned a very beautiful outdoor Autumn service at a country club in RI.
Needless to say she got an inside winter wedding in the hall. (there was a slight bit of disappointment that her wedding day wasnt exactly the dream she had hoped for…ah well)
It was very cold, very wet.
Hmmm…they say rain on a wedding day is good luck…I guess snow is EXTREMELY good luck! I always feel bad for brides to be that take a chance on an outdoor wedding, and Mother Nature decides otherwise. Hope she had a great day despite the weather!
Evening folks, it was overcast yesterday(Sunday) a nice fall day in the OV today. I wished I had saw that game, I love watching football in snow, only time I can enjoy it. hehehe Looks always so funny. Enjoyed JD’s presentation with Jon Scott + Jane Skinner today. You looked great JD in your blue outfit.
Thanks Peter! I miss the fall colors in the OV!
